Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • This squad wouldn’t preform in any formation, we’re just shit.

Park the bus and shore it
    up
But at least he would've had preseason. Just seems silly to bring in a coach everyone knows plays only one system, not our system, mid sesson

A manager that has 2 months on the job is considered having enough time to instill his system. At best he had an excuse of the players arent good enough, but if he cant make his system at least looks competent he's not a good manager.

Preseason is just there to make sure you start the season running. Doesnt mean you cannot learn outside of it. It's not like they have no training session during the season.

Dalot is being asked to look after the entire left side both attacking and defending. Its unfair.

On the right its always Amad+Maz, whereas on the left Bruno is central so its basically just Dalot.

    Team is unbalanced.

Every game like this that passes is another game the players lose belief in both the system in the manager.

    I fear for Amorim now

At the time EtH tried to make out that DDG's inability to play out from the back was what was holding us back. Then Martinez was injured for most of last season, so that was seen as the reason we still couldn't build up from the back.

In reality, EtH just didn't know how to coach a team how to do that in the EPL, where every team has good players and press like mad
It’s questionable whether Ruben Amorim does either, neither had PL experience coming into the job, simply beggars belief when coaches like Iraola are out there.

Amorim should probably play 442, this persistent 343 is not working with these players. We have literally threw away the season and we are now battling for 40 points. 14 points from the next 17 games.

Nothing else to really add anymore, these overpaid players disgust me. How can you be so useless as a professional player, I'm baffled. No positive vibe from amorim, we win a game and he immediately says yeah but we going to lose again. Whole thing is just rotten.

Outplayed by Southampton who have only 6 points all season so its no surprise a top side like Brighton easily dismantled Our frailties.

We have Sancho out on loan Rashford out of the squad and left with just a bang average few forwards.

Why put an arbitrary position on this season. The league is dead anyway and I'd rather he start drumming the tactics into the team now rather than the summer after unknown replacements come in. It also gives him a better idea of who is capable of what.

Unless we look seriously in danger he should carry on getting things right his way.

8th to 12th is normal considering the circumstances. Anything bellow that simply shows he's also another fraud. Nobody expect anything this season, but his form is extremely worrying even with all the no expectations

Lots of managers post Fergie were able to get results against big teams. Didn't save them one bit when we drop points to Brighton regularly, Crystal Palace, etc.

It's like Bolton getting a result against Fergie's Utd teams except we are the Bolton now.

For the last time, the system is not the problem, it is the players.

The same system got us results against some of the best teams, the difference is in performance and effort from the players.
I really don't know anymore. Against Southampton out energy levels weren't bad but we were still shit.

The keeper isn't solely to blame for this loss. Amorim's inflexible tactics are.
Totally agree he won’t last long, the last coach was far too stubborn and he won a couple of trophies, this team is nothing like ETH season 1 man united who were at least a genuine top 4/5 team.

I told people ten hag has done so much irreparable long term damage to the club it's going to take years to fix he literally left us with a mid table average team the previous managers all left top 4 quality teams

Players don’t understand that they have to turn up and put in 100% every single game. Leave nothing out there.

They can do it occasionally. Occasionally is nowhere near good enough. They are nowhere near good enough mentality wise. Outfought and out thought far too often.

Lack of any incomings showing up Ineos as just Glazer light.

Lots of managers post Fergie were able to get results against big teams. Didn't save them one bit when we drop points to Brighton regularly, Crystal Palace, etc.

It was not just results, it was the performance as well. We were so much better in those games. With and without the ball, we were excellent. Compare that to today where apart from maybe Amad and Zirkzee, everyone else looks drunk. In Onana's case, he really might be.
The problem is the players. Even today, all goals could be avoided, but players were just not switched on.

It's mind boggling that folks can't seem to understand that there are more goalkeepers out there than DDG and Onana. The former absolutely had to go, he had become a liability and even with his lesser contract would have been the best paid goalkeeper around.

Why does he had to go at all cost? He's not great but still functioning. Again it's not like we're playing for title where we need a super keeper.

Selling him looks a bigger mistake if the one coming after is Onana

It’s questionable whether Ruben Amorim does either, neither had PL experience coming into the job, simply beggars belief when coaches like Iraola are out there.
I imagine extracting someone like Iraola at that point in the season would have been impossible.
We're still paying for trying to stick with EtH. Probably paying for hiring him at all and letting him sign players like Antony.

Blame Woodward & co who left us in this financial whole by giving out million dollar contracts for average players.
But it's just ridiculous playing so defensively at home, not even with proper wing backs. Essentially 5-2-3 with a gaping hole in midfield.

We're bang average as a squad but they ought to be doing better than being swept aside at home. This was very one-sided.

Our main problem is that we have zero pace in our side so we can't counter, we are getting overrun and we cant play a high line. But we should also be really happy we have the points we have - because we deserve to go down, but we probably wont do it because most of the teams below us are even worse

No, you're hoping for that so you can tell people you told them so.
I can already say that now "I told you so", and many people got angry with me for being able to see it early. Unfortunately I will be right.
But you are wrong somewhere: I always hope for the best for United and therefore Amorim as long as he is our manager. It is something completely different from believing in him.

I really don't know anymore. Against Southampton out energy levels weren't bad but we were still shit.

We were better against Southampton. It was always about getting that 1st goal, with the chances we missed, and the pen not given.

In this game, we had nothing apart from the pen.

Totally agree he won’t last long, the last coach was far too stubborn and he won a couple of trophies, this team is nothing like ETH season 1 man united who were at least a genuine top 4/5 team.
The players aren't as bad as what they are showing. Even Van Nistelrooy was able to get some initial bounce from these players. Keeping it simple. Amorim has come in and weakened an already struggling team. Takes some doing.

He was awful, and was costing us a huge amount of money. It was either part ways with him then, or pay him a fortune and be stuck with him for years, as proven by clubs being very hesitant to sign him even on a free. Moving him on when we had the chance was unquestionably the correct decision, bringing Onana in as the replacement is questionable, but we needed a replacement.

    Was ok vs Liverpool though...

To be fair he didnt mince word telling them they're crap. I'm on his side though, i agree they need to be thrown under the bus. But it doesnt work in real life. He's ruthless alright but lacks the cunning to stab them when the time is right.

SAF was the master of dumping players when He's ready, not at all cost

Elanga, considered surplus as we persisted with Antony looking down at us from his third placed Nottingham Forest perch.

Never seen the game & glad I didn’t. Far too predictable as knew what was going to happen today even though I was desperately hoping to be proven wrong.

Man Utd have just recorded their sixth home Prem home defeat of the season. The most in their first 12 home games of the season since 1893/94 when there were seven.

very frustrating the way we are at home. After the tough away games we’ve had.

And since we have played with the new formation all teams have scored against us in all but 1 of the matches
Agree . He's like a postacoglo at spurs they don't change. This season is over maybe a run in cup and Europa league.

It’s just so so easy to score a few goal against us. Our players is like minions out there costing a billi $. Awful stuff.

Very one sided ? Don’t think that’s a true reflection really. I would call it a low quality game with some mistakes in there.

We can't sugar coat it, they were just the better team. Tactically, defensively, and in attack.

Personally don't think that they should have finished the game with 11 men, but yeah, we've come to expect that.
