What people fail to acknowledge is that a sweeper keeper probably is the way forward, but it only works if you have a solid midfield and defence.
We haven't had a solid midfield in a decade and our defence is injury prone.
As a club, we give away too many chances and have for a long time relied on outrageous saves from DDG. Yes, he started making silly mistakes but in amongst that still made crazy saves last season.
In bringing in Onana, we don't have silly mistakes (at least yet) but we also don't have the ability to pull off worldie saves. Fine if you don't concede many chances, but we give them away for fun!
We would be a much better team if we'd kept DDG another year and spent the Mount, Onana money on Rice... absolutely shocking squad development.

Eriksen has been our best man at the ball. I can not remember him making a wrong pass. Rashford has been our only player creating chances.

It's clear for any one with eyes, that he is not a top keeper, when it comes to actually winning us points.
