He hasn't played all pre season and had a minor injury during internationals. I wouldn't risk starting him, but I don't think it's a game for Eriksen either. McT might have to be the play for the moment.
Play McTerminator behind Hojlund and all our attacking woes will be over I'd say. Cole and Yorke will be jealous.

Think we will win this one.

We are usually good when we have to defend deep and counter attack. It will be a bit like 4 days later against Bayern.

I think Ten Hag would be clever to train Garnacho on the right for this period as we can do with his speed and directness on the right.

    My team :

    -----------------------------------------------------------Onana-----------------------------------------------------------------
    Wan Bissaka-------------------------Lindelof-------------Martinez-----------------------------------------Dalot
    ---------------------------------------------Casemiro-----------Erisken----------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------Bruno------------------------------------------------------------------
    Garnacho--------------------------------------------Martial---------------------------------------------------Rashford

We're playing Brighton. Not Pep's Barcelona.

There's absolutely no need to set up shop and defend deep.

I expect Bruno on the right but I hope Pellestri gets an extended run to claim the spot on the right.

    Rasmus
    Rashford McT Eriksen Bruno
    Casemiro
    Dalot Martinez Lindelöf AwB
    Onana

If Amrabat is fit, why in the world would anyone not want him on the field for this? We got him to deal with the types of problems that a team like Brighton will cause in the middle of the park.

    -----------------------Onana-------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    -----------Lindelof-------Martinez-------------
    AWB------------------------------------------Dalot
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    -------------Casemiro-----Amrabat-----------
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Bruno-------------Eriksen----------Rashford
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------Højlund-----------------------

Was just going to post the same as this. These are exactly the games where you need an Amrabat.

They are hitting us for five.

It's not about need, we won't have the ball and they will be all over us.

Part of managing is knowing your strengths and weaknesses. Brighton is currently better than us at most things, we need to sit back and counter them.

Even Forest hit us for 2goals in 4mins. You never know with this group of players. The mood within the camp must be low again with all the Antony and Sancho news. If Brighton start like Forest, there is a very good chance of them spanking us.

Only thing is, we might score 6 because they are way too attacking which suits our counter-attacking players.

    We'd all take a 6-5 win!

Actually think we'll turn up and win 3-1. The two new singings up front and midfield will hopefully catch them off guard and hit the ground running.

You may be onto something. What if we all let out all the negativity BEFORE the game. We'll have such a happy match thread we'll collectively inspire the team to go out and smash em.
That's right. This club is hopeless, the best we can get is 7th place.

Imagine being terrified of a club who's modus operandi is to buy cheap gambles in order to fleece big clubs.

It's Brighton, not Barca. feck the lot of 'em - Saturday we go for it!

You say that as if a track record of buying low and selling high is somehow a bad thing.

I guess they should be fearing the club who consistently blow 70 million+ on bang-average players.

The same club that finished above them last season and won silverware.

Irrelevant. We finished above Liverpool as well, and we're certainly not better than them.

We are obviously proven better than them over a league campaign. One off fixtures mean nothing.

As of last season, we were better than them. Unless you're now suggesting a 38 league game season lies?

I’d like to share this optimism but isn’t Amrabat injured and our back line decimated?

People were saying this about Arsenal game too, which was far from what happened.

I hope Pellistri is back from Intl duty early enough to get the start on the right if Mount is not fit.

Or can Garnacho be effective from the right?

I doubt we will ever see Bruno on the right again, hope hope.

I've sort of blissfully forgot this is a football forum & we have a team to support. I haven't gone into any thread outside the general in the past nine-ish days.

It's a little disconcerting that we have to play again so soon.

    Hojlund
    Rashford Mount? Bruno
    Eriksen Casemiro
    Dalot Martinez Varane? Wan-Bissaka
    Onana
Don't think Mount and Varane will be available. I expect the starting back 8 will be the same as last game. Beyond Rashford I'm not really certain what the front 3 will include. If I had to guess I would say that Rashford - Martial - Sancho start.

When was the last time we failed to win a home game? Was it Leeds? Was that the only one this year? I’m trying to recall. I don’t think we’ve even lost at home in the league since losing to this lot on the opening day of last season.

Another narrow home win wouldn’t be a surprise.

Assuming Amrabat isn’t fully fit, and nor is Mount I’d be seriously tempted to try a diamond.

    Onana
    AWB - Lindelof - Martinez - Dalot
    Casemiro
    Bruno - Eriksen
    McTominay
    Hojlund - Rashford

Bruno and Eriksen can exploit the space in behind for Hojlund/Rashford to run into.

McSauce higher up the park to help disrupt Gilmour and to offer a goal threat with his late runs into box.

I think with the lack of a RW it’s perhaps not the worst idea.

Because we played like terrified children and passed the ball to Onana 400 times.
Because we played smart and looked for space patiently without rushing, but I guess you probably think rushing mindlessly is brave.
