Remember about ten years back when much of the commentary on here was that we need to move on/upgrade from, Smalling, Evans, Jones, because they were made of glass and/or not good enough.
Today we have a 35 year old Evans starting at CB. Alongside Maguire who the manager would have been happy to let go in the summer. This because both our first choice CB's are injured and our third choice CB is playing at full back because our first choice full backs are also injured.
All a bit sad.
And who would you play instead? I will wait whilst you find another defender that isn't injured......

Not really. The irony is luckily we did.Aside from the win, just hoping for some signs of hope from that midfield today. Kind of game where we need to take care of the ball to avoid pressure on the defence, a more mature performance from the captain would be a big help.

Except that we really weren’t all that great against a woeful Galatasaray side. It’s correct to point to Onana as being a shambles, but apart from Hojlund our front line and midfield were abysmal. Rashford had a sitter on goal from just outside the six yard box but instead put in a horrifying pass that was unplayable by Bruno. Speaking of Bruno, oh my. There is no pointing to that match as any kind of high point in the season .
But we’re here now to discuss this match and I expect a solid recovery performance against Brentford. Wounded animal time.
