    Mctominay came in for Pogba in our last game. He's also more of a box to box so he should be playing Pogba's role but he'd be the last in the pecking order behind Pogba and Fred.

    Yeah but the team was poor back then, the players were low on confidence, not up to speed fitness wise and it wasn't obvious how we wanted to play, we do now and the team if not flying is ready for take-off, one or two players missing even if they are the best in the team will not change that. Now if they were missing for 5 or 6 games ....
     
    Ole said he was likely to make a couple of changes, I think the back 4 will be kept in tact but I can see McTominay coming in for Matic and I think James will start, hopefully instead of Rashford as Marcus doesn't look fully on it yet and I think James plays better on the left.

    We should play our strongest team, and James isn't in it.

    Would be fine with McTom or Fred or Williams playing but James really limits our attack IMO, he isn't good enough to start.
     
    I don't think there'd be any change in the line up. Maybe he was just playing guessing with the opponent.

    Imo it'd be mad if James starts instead of Greenwood after the later had an incredible game and scored the opening in the last match.

    It's simple, a must win then the best players must start. And it's been a very long time that we have our first XI available, let them play together and gel. No feckup this time please, especially when both Leicester and Chelsea lost in the last round, we have to capitalise on the opportunity.
     
    I'd love to see Williams, McTom, and Ighalo starting. Our first XI need a massive break.

    AWB looked tired though. But sadly Dalot is a massive downgrade as RB alternative.
     
    Obviously an absolute must win game with how others have dropped points, have to go full strength and not risk anything on this one.

    Win the game first then rest players.

    Let's hope it's no 8 changes like the Norwich game. This squad isn't quite gelled enough to make drastic seamless changes.

    Rotation is fine, but limit it to 2 or 3
     
    Sounds like there will be one or two changes as per the presser.

    Sounds like it would be Shaw and Matic.

    But as a word expert :smirk: he says he has "many many reasons to keep the same eleven" and then "a few reasons to rotate".
    With that my expert word deduction analysis is that it will be the same starting 11.:nervous::wenger:

    It takes a lot of injuries for Andreas and Lingard to be required IMO. They're behind what are seen as back-up players at this moment in time such as: McTominay, Fred, Mata, James...

    So, before they make the starting line-up we probably need injuries to 3 or 4 players minimum.

    We definitely need to be upgrading them as soon as possible, but if we manage the squad correctly I'm hopeful we can just use these players to sub off key players in games won, rather than having an injury crisis and needing them to start.

    God I've missed being so excited for games. Woke up so early though, when I should still be asleep :lol:

    Expect Williams to come in for Shaw as its probably the change we can make with the lowest change in quality.

    Matic will be rested with 1 of McT or Fred coming in. I'd like it to be McT although I know that's harsh on Fred. I just think Scott's ceiling could be higher and want to see him play with the first choice midfield.

    Rashford is woefully out of form, but I don't think resting him is going to solve that. I'd probably rest Greenwood to look after him with so many games coming up, play James and hope the rest of the side can get the job done.

    Also his football intelligence is way ahead of James. His touch and movement are qualities we don't appreciate enough.

    It is going to be strange watching a live Prem game at 3pm on a Saturday. I've said for years that the blanket ban is daft (I remember the days when event the radio couldn't announce it's live commentary game until about 30 mins before kick off. Seventies stupidity

    It makes no sense at all. Like the fans who go to the matches are just gonna say nah it's grand I'll stay home and watch it on my sofa. There's no difference at all.

    Its doubly feckin stupid when you're sitting in Ireland and you can't feckin watch it :lol:

    At least they allow us one game a week now.

    Its not there because they think United or Liverpool fans won't go to games. Its there because they think people who attend lower league games will stop going to those games and instead stay in or go to the pub to watch United or Liverpool or TV.
     
    Whilst it is important that key players get a rest, Id rather start with our strongest side, and (especially with 5 subs) change early.But Id rather they are introduced one at a time , not all 5 in one go. I think that mucks up continuity - the same happens in rugby with mass changes and then the game invariably goes flat. The biggest danger today is complacency. logic suggests that Bournemouth will get a licking and that's when disaster strikes. the team must be on it right from the start - fired up as if they were playing a top five team, not a relegation doomed outfit.
