We have a great defence. They just decided to have an off day today

I think both those defensive 'disasters' were down to DDG more than the defense. He should not be getting beaten at the front post from that angle, and his hospital pass to Maguire would have cost us another goal had the forward not been offside.

Rio Ferdinand just clearing up why De Gea’s error is the issue there. If you’re a keeper, you get your angles right and you don’t get done at your near post.

All grabbing a goal too. Brilliant stuff. Amazing potential on that front line.

Think in the past United might have went into their shells after the first goal but great response.

Absolutely. Still think we should add another option (like Sancho) though. Having 4 such players to rotate in those 3 positions would be amazing. They'd all get more than enough playing time. Some of them could do a job in Fernandes position to when needed.

Now rest Pogba and Bruno at 60th minute so we keep them fresh for next match. Give McTominay and Fred the minutes.

The more I see, Lindelof is the one to keep and upgrade Maguire. He shouldn't be even on the team let alone be the captain.

That is a gross overreaction. Maguire is not as good as VVD, but he's easily as good, on average, as Lindelof and quite critical for our current squad. Both defensively as well as in starting the attacks. We are almost certainly not upgrading him in the summer.

Lovely performance so far, which players should we rest at 60 minutes? Bruno, Matic, Martial?

Hope this time De Gea and Maguire not being great doesn't matter for us. Like to focus on the positive though.
Our attack is deadly at the moment. Greenwood has improved so bloody much over the break too.

Well that was great response to what was a poor goal to concede early on. Our defence was asleep completely for that seemingly. De Gea should have done a lot better too.

But to talk about the comeback. Bit of a screamer for thr first goal from Greenwood. Continue to grow into the team and impress. Very happy with him. And assist for Fernandes too. What's not to like? For the second I must admit I was very nervous seeing Rashford step up as I had flashbacks to the start of the season. Glad he scored though and got his first goal after his return. And then the third... What a beautiful goal! The type of goal that we know Martial is capable of, and he didn't disappoint here. Keeps up his own recent great form.

Satisfied we got 3 before half time. Can probably start to look to rest some people soon once again.

All three of them did so many interplay, switching positions. Their movements made Bournemouth defenders couldn't know how to defend against.

Prior to Pogba and Bruno our strikers run a lot too but no one could pick them up.

So happy with the line up now, fecking bloody hell great. I can't describe how happy I am

Lovely performance so far, which players should we rest at 60 minutes? Bruno, Matic, Martial?
Only if we score another though. No risks this half, keep it tight in midfield and we’ll get another

The lack of patterns of play in attack is infinitely frustrating. It's really something we need to focus on if we want to become a team that challenges the very best.

Anthony ‘needs to do more’/‘yeah but he’s not going to get you 20 goals’ Martial bags his 20th. He’s no ‘Bobby Dazzler’ though.

We haven't been that great today. But it's refreshing to see that even in such circumstances we've managing to score 3 in the first half.

Feels bloody nice to have 5 attack minded players I actually find exciting to watch. That hasn't happened since the SAF days.

Bruno has 5 goals and 5 assists in 9 PL games

It doesn't matter that he wasn't beaten once, they played multiple direct balls to Josh King and Lindelof is a bit passive and doesn't really attack the ball in those cases. Several situations where they were easily able to get up the field or threaten with a 1v1 near the box. Ultimately he is a solid defender when facing his man but why risk it?

Anyway, he doesn't need to be replaced. I'd be happy with Matic just dropping back a bit more and making it back 3 as well.
How it doesn't matter? Every time he stopped attacker. Blocked shot or covered space which allowed our defenders to settle in defence.
Meanwhile Maguire had only one situation like that and fecked it up.

Lovely of Bruno to insist Rashy take the pen
Bruno should be the captain, over Maguire, in a perfect world. The guy is a born leader.

Hope this goal helps Rashy get the confidence he needs. Class act from Bruno (even if I was terrified Rashy would miss it)

I think both those defensive 'disasters' were down to DDG more than the defense. He should not be getting beaten at the front post from that angle, and his hospital pass to Maguire would have cost us another goal had the forward not been offside.

Wan Bissaka should have prevented Stanislas being here, Maguire should have prevented shooting, DDG shod have prevented scoring. They all failed. It’s ok, shit happens

What a half. Feels so good to know that a defensive error won't cost us the full game!

Well played to the forwards. Greenwood is really something special. It just looked like a goal the moment he got the ball. His ceiling really could be very very high! So impressive.

    Martial proving his critics wrong.

Fernandes has got two assists but he hasn't been good especially his passing. Actually, our collective passing had been below average.

Shut up ffs. If he gets 2 assists by half time I couldn't give a shit if he doesn't complete another pass.

He feints a run into the box to jink the defender. It was quality movement that created the space.
He has the awareness and football intelligence in bundles. Shrewd passer and always to feet. The potential is limitless
