Nothing more than a friendly warm up game before a cup final. I'm assuming we will see a very different line-up, barring a few players getting some training action before the final. If it would have been up to me i'd rest the whole team that'll play the final and let the U21 play.
Like we did in 2007 when we had the FA cup final coming up so SAF rested the whole team and let Dong and co receive a guard of honor at the bridge.

Give Bournemouth a cheek they can not refuse to allow us score 19 goals each goal equal half a million. I think they will accept that. But wait wait we want LVG out so save the money and let's fly a plane with a banner telling this cnut THANKS FOR NOTHING FECKER.

Does anyone know the record for goals scored in a single match in English first division/prem football?

If, somehow, the score got to 6-0 by the 35th minute...oh my!

    According to James Ducker:

"Van Gaal is expected to pick the same team that was named against Bournemouth on Sunday, even though Champions League qualification is now beyond United and he has less time to prepare for the Cup final. The Dutchman will keep faith with that line-up, meaning Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney operating in advanced midfield positions behind lone striker Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard on the flanks."

    Utter madness.

    Called it on Sunday:
I have a feeling he will put out a full strength team.
Just seems like a van Gaal thing to do.

Smh, this shows its the fans are the ones with no ambitions... All we need to do is win convincingly and top four is ours.

A goal every 2.37 minutes - no probs. LVG will have a game plane for this.

Every 4.7 mins, call it 5 mins with usual added time.

Imagine if we got close, would be around 10 mins of added time just for goals if it's still 30 second per goal.

Can we not hire a few thousand glamour girls to sit behind the opposition goal and replace the ball boys to distract the keeper? I'd only need Rachel Riley tbh.

I hope the players are up for this.

I can see us hitting a good few goals, but we are going to concede as well. So I think we are going to need more than the 19 goals advised, and I hope the players are ready for it.

We beat Arsenal 8-2 a few years back. If we can do that three times in 90 minutes, we have a chance

This game will be a fascinating insight into Van Gaal's psyche. To be blunt, scoring 20 goals isn't impossible. It is extremely unlikely and I am not saying that we could do it even under Fergie.

But the general gist of this game is "Go out there and score 20 goals", 2 goals every 10 minutes. The reward is Champions League and you would like to think we'd have at least 30 shots on goal and score 3+ (Van Gaal adjusted marker).

Knowing Van Gaal it will be 76% possession 4 shots on target 1-0. I find that pretty hilarious and will shake my head if it does finish that way tonight.

We couldn't hold on to a 2-1 lead at Upton Park to secure champions league football.

As for scoring 20, well, you'd need to have 20 shots on goal to even stand a chance - I am not sure, but I doubt we have managed 20 shots on goals over the course of 2 consecutive games at any point this season.

Louis will use it as a training session - training to retain possession for as much of the game as is possible. He wants to teach the youth and have them ready to step in next season seamlessy.

It'll be dull as shit as always.

Yeah @Dans , that is why I find it fascinating. This match, everything goes out the window it is literally just get the ball up forward as many times as you can and score as many as you can. I wouldn't trust this lot to score 3 under Van Gaal's philosophy let alone 5/10/20. This game is a blank canvas of "right lads, just score a butt tonne of goals and who cares about everything else"

I mean, could you imagine if the game finishes low scoring and we have 3 or 4 shots at goal.
I would be lost for words.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_records_in_England#Scorelines
Record victory in history of English football was 13:0 (in second and third division in 1946 and 1934 respectively).
Most goals in a game was 17 (13:4 scoreline in third division in 1935).

Any team scoring 20 goals in a single game is a lot more than just "unlikely". Fergie wouldn't have been able to do it, but under him we wouldn't be in a position where we need to score 20 goals in a game to up goal difference anyway.

Aye, I am just over emphasizing the "20" to contrast my point. The "just go out and score goals" point. We've spent two seasons trying to fake our way through playing possession football and do as much as we can to avoid having to actually play football and score goals, as I said above. This game is a blank sheet of "just score goals".

    70% possession 3 shots, 1-1 incoming. Haha

We can do it, we just have to bel19ve.

20 no but 10-0 against Sunderland in 2012 would have done it for us.

Five Live sports correspondent with a serious voice "United can qualify for the CL league tonight with a 19-0 win over Bournemouth"

I think maybe we need to start some sort of "20 goals, 20 goals, Man United!" chant...

Could you imagine OT if they had a couple of players sent off, we got to 18 goals and he took off the strikers and brought on two defenders to protect his lead.

0-0, a half empty stadium and a crap speech from Louis is what I expect.

    bring on Jose.

Give him some credit, he's not Pellegrini!

If it is a boring game I can well imagine the Jose chants starting up. The fans don't need to hold back now as we are out of the CL. The time for politeness has gone.

Will players really bother? The way this game is scheduled, i think we might be in for a shock.

Need to score a goal every 4,5 minutes for 90 minutes. Assuming we get a bit of added time we might only have to score every 4,8 minutes. Believe

Yeah and like all so called protests it will probably be one man and his sign.

Can't remember where it was (probably Twitter this morning), but I'm sure I saw that Van Gaal isn't going to rest players. Which is so stupid it's probably true.

Can someone tell me why Sky Germany isn´t showing this game again, they are s shite reagrding epl, pissing me off. They will lose the rights anyway, do you known where I can buy a epl ao then?
