Now I've checked score.. looks like I missed a cracker.. Watch highlights later..

Garnacho scored 2 goals and is therefore MoM. But Rashford played really well today.
Absolutely and Garnaucho from the right is just as dangerous from the left, let’s hope the one game a week allows the team to perform more like the second half and find more of a team pattern, Kobie Mainoo was also outstanding and the midfield with Eriksen sitting deeper was also more effective, much better but this team has a long long way to go?

Can’t believe Villas tactics. So naive.
They have one plan which works quite well. More and more teams will be prepared against that plan. Lets see, where they will end up. Their plan actually suited us today.

Fair play to ETH - today he did a hell of a job at half time. And it's becoming quite obvious that Garnacho, Højlund and Mainoo are players we should stick with - even when the other players return from injury.

Stick with the kids - and I might change my vote to keep

I like Garnacho on the right because he does not just near the line all the time. He also plays more over the middle of the pitch and he becomes more unpredictable.

Get the feck in. Great comeback, delighted just to see goals and a real confidence boosting win. Worked our asses off to get that. Delighted for Hojlund, it was just a dumb variance thing that he wasn't scoring (and our team creating nothing). Great to see Rashford put in a good game too. That front 4 has to be sorted like that

Said at half time while 0-2 it will be interesting to see if Emery stops the high line. Last season we broke through them so much and should've had 4-5, it was 1-0 if I recall and Villa had the game to play for. Today 2-0 up it's a bit odd but they stuck with the high line, they had two fortunate goals from set pieces.

It helped us out big time to bomb through them just like last time. A great win and attacking flare but like the Chelsea win I won't get too carried away. Nice to see us fight back and our attackers be among the goals and creation.

Reminded me of the 3-2 v Newcastle at the end of Jose’s time. Hope it’s not a similar false dawn.

Great game, good performance. We should have scored 6-7 but I’m just thrilled we managed to create several big chances, pressed properly and didn’t give up.

We should continue with Rashy in his natural position (he actually pressed and worked hard today!) and Garnacho on the right where he can cross from.

I’m still not convinced by a midfield of Mainoo and Eriksen. They’ll get run over in many games but I’m not sure what other options we’ve got at the moment.

They changed their tune now? I'm hoping to go up there again in the next few months

Fans got behind them pretty well as usual to be fair. Plenty boos of frustration at 0-2, but great atmosphere as you’d expect at the end.

Not as many Christmas songs as I'm used to  but it must have been amazing to be there, the Viva Garnacho stuff was cool

Having Eriksen's brain in the team does help too!

The Eriksen/Mainoo/Bruno trio worked significantly better than the McTom alternative.

Yeah he definately earned that support tonight. Only one song being sung by supporters outside on the way home too, clearly a hero tonight.

The way that Garnacho has always been rigidly stuck left I assumed he could not play right either this is a Rocky switching to southpaw move or ETH is an absolute moron... he has been sticking Rashford right and Garnacho left when by tonight's evidence the reverse is a far better and natural solution. Rashford playing like that on the left will create chances for Rasmus and Garnacho....

I should feel elated after tonight and I do, but geez even more evidence if needed of ETH's ineptitude

Think without doubt Eriksen back in midfield was a massive improvement, Mainoo looked better than anyone else we have played recently in the deepest midfield position

I mean one could also look at it that the manager is still learning about his players.

How about a bit of praise for making the change instead?

I take your point .... if this was a month or 2 in, but learning that Garnacho can operate on the right and that Rashford really doesn't fare well on the right should not take a season and a half to work out.... praise for making the change yes, I am just not convinced that it was anything more than happenstance, I am yet to see any tactical ingenuity from ETH, yes injuries have been a major factor, but not adapting to your circumstances is a bigger problem
