Even though it hasn't really happened that much over the course of the whole season, it just feels like it has begun to creep in more that we aren't capable of seeing games out. It will be a combination of a lot of things, so I won't just blame EtH subs as some people I've spoken to do. We want EtH to rotate, but due to the injuries and lack of squad depth his hands are tied.

Just in this calendar year, we have not won after taking the lead five times. Maybe it's somewhat normal if we compare it to other sides near the top, but I kind of doubt it.

We really need a clinical centre forward as a running theme in most of the games we got pegged back in was missing too many chances. Palace 1-1, Barca 2-2, Sevilla 2-2, Spurs 2-2... The amount of times we actually go 3- or 4-0 up in a game when we arguably deserve to is minute.

Hope we can hold on today as they will come here to play and are full of confidence.

Extremely concerned by that line up. Bruno at RW? Why not play him in his best position? Starting Malacia after his recent poor performances? Why no AWB, Antony, Martial? I'm guessing we're rotating but this is less than ideal.
Martial has been pretty poor lately, surprised there's no Antony though as he gives us a bit of fight.

Had a little feeling AWB might be dropped, felt he was too casual on Thursday at times.

Not happy that AWB doesn't start.. anyway, we have to get a win today.

EtH laying down the law by benching both AWB and Antony for that disastrous second half start against Spurs. Not sure if shifting Bruno out wide is the right call though. I know he's in there because only he can replicate Antony's (usual) workrate, but I think Pellistri could've done a job there. Then again, EtH is the one who sees all of them in training so I'll defer to his judgment.

My sources are saying this formation

    DDG

    Lindelof --------- Shaw
    Dalot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Malacia
    Casemiro

    Fernandes ----------------------- Eriksen
    Sabitzer

    Sancho ---------
    ---------
    Rashford

It’s so weird to me how Fernandes is constantly played out of position for players who are so obviously worse than him (Weghorst; Sabitzer etc)

Many of them were to be honest and that's concerning.
We completely shut-off in the 2nd half.

I was more livid with that result than I was with the Liverpool one.

Pellistri must be absolutely awful in training. Either play him or sell him, but don't let this fester.

Some of you think we'll lose, but I just don't see it.
I think this is a nailed-on win for us.
    But let's see.

Lots of square pegs in round holes. Really hope we get this takeover sorted and have a productive summer so we can see what Ten Hag is really capable of.

    But let's see.

Definitely not as confident as you. Our form at home's been pretty good all season (even the Spurs result can be understood after the 120mins semi final), but Emery's Villa's been very impressive and their form's as good as anyone's bar City, I think it could swing either way.

What did AWB and Antony do to get dropped?
Antony was awful against spurs and tends to only ever offer any sort of attacking threat sporadically . Awb was slow to get out to his man several times against spurs but I would still prefer hom to dalot or malacia

Yep, not liking the back four of Lindelof, Fernandes, Rashford and Malacia.

I think it's Fernandes at RW and it's the usual 4-2-3-1, but it can also be interpreted as a diamond, so yeah.

Don't know why the ordering of the names still winds me up so much but it does
Think of the poor social media person who has to do these though. This way they don't have to try and guess the actual formation and be slated if they get something wrong.

If Casemiro is on-it, then I'm confident we'll get the 3 points. We can't have him be sloppy with the ball today in that deep role.

Villa have scored in all 22 games under Emery, we can't afford to have another day where we keep missing clear chances.

Malacia starting is baffling, he's in terrible form. Villa will get at him as much as possible.
