    Thank god i got to pick up my son at 9.15 thats got to be one of the worst halves i have seen of football.
     
    The club should apologize for that display of nothingness to the fans at half time. Only decent thing to do.
    Their back 5 is championship level and we can barely get into the last third, nevermind creating chances. I don`t know much about stats, but i would not be surprised if our xG was in the negative

    We have the ball, except most of the time it’s just loose passing between the centre backs and the full backs with the occasional long ball because our midfielders are hopeless.
     
    Villa are playing with such a high line there is so much space in behind yet our bereft of creativity midfield can't spot the space or runs made, especially by Martial.

    The most egregious one was that one Fred missed to spot Martial and would have been in with a simple pass yet he tried to go wide and didn't even make the pass and lost it.
     
    I really enjoyed Zidane and Savage in pre-season, could they not have featured today

    mcfred and DVB simply not good enough.
    Donnys being given good game time and hes just anonymous again. Freds passing is dire as usual.
    we need Casamiro on for fred or scott. Garnacho for DVB and let Bruno move to 10.

    Forwards just not good enough is the main problem, Salah would have a hat trick in this game.
     
    Honestly believe some of the dimwits in our squad are uncoachable. They train every day to play a certain way but still serve up the same rubbish we've seen for years. How the feck can premier league players find it so difficult to make a few passes without losing possession
     
    Really hate this Bruno on the right thing. Hasn't worked since and we still keep going for it over and over again, and we end up creating a problem in the middle in the process, why?
     
    Why we try this long ball over the top again and again? Is this the style we tend to impose?
     
    Fred- A midfielder who can’t control, shield and pass or shoot the ball
    Mct- A midfielder who can’t pass the ball
    Vdb- A false player
     
    Awful game of football. Villa will be content as they've turned it into a 45 match where they can play on the counter with a bit more impetus.

    You can just see how hard it is for us to dictate a game in midfield with Fred & McTominay as a pair. Fred in particular has been astonishingly bad tonight.

    Its like no one wants to pass to him. He's always asking for the ball but the players just ignore him. I guess they expect him to give it right back anyway.

    Its strange though, he'll point to himself just about to make a run behind the line but get ignore, but everyone will send a pass out towards Rashford behind the line even though he's not ready for it.

    It’s shocking really. Every team in the league is capable of passing the ball around better than this. Every touch is off. Every pass is weighted wrong or played into the wrong space. Just complete shite.
     
    This is the kind of game we should be playing Eriksen in. Slower pace and more room for passes.
     
    So many runs early that were there for players to put the ball in or just open players to get the ball progressed quickly but, no one was willing to take a chance. Villa has a high line and we need a player that can see the ball quicker.

    If ETH is going to play Bruno out of position then why the hell not just play him in the Eriksen spot, at least he sees the passes and will play those balls over the top.

    Something has got to change in this second half, play with a significant amount more urgency which comes with just wanting to move the ball quicker and being aware of what is around you - not get the ball, take a touch or 2 and then figure out next pass.

    This is what I can’t understand. It’s one thing not bringing in the quality but persisting with the deadwood is another. Fred’s 5th season here now and we all knew he wasn’t good enough after 6 months. Why are we not just moving him on and at least giving kids a chance?
     
    We don't need our middle 4 to create chances, just pass to the attackers, It's not too much to ask for. One of the most baffling displays of midfield incompetence.
     
    How can we expect to win a game of football with Fred, McT and VdB in midfield? Villa are playing a high line but none of the aforementioned can time and hit a pass over 10 meters. It's insane that this is the team we have to field after having spent fortunes since SAF.

    I would be down for playing Bruno on the right if it wasn't just to accommodate VDB as 10. Building the attack around our poorest and least influential player
     
    Good off the ball and pressing, shit on the ball which you'd expect considering the midfield 3 and the back 2.

    I would swap Donny for Casemiro and push Fred and Scott higher up the pitch. Maybe we could add some pressure to them
     
    Bring Donny off now. His kit should still be clean.

    Save the subs for later though.
