Just seen Dion Dublin is in the ground. I hope the Glazers got him in to do a homes under the hammer type makeover of Old Trafford.

Ronaldo has probably decided that he wants to take it easy before the world cup now he has minutes in his legs.

After two dire performances VdB gets a chance to put in 3 in a row! Odd selection.

Poor Pellistri can't get a chance despite despite our forwards being in poor form. No wonder he wants out.

Why not just put Bruno in the middle and give Pellistri a go on the right?
Maybe the only way to see if VDB is a decent player is give him a run of games. He’s not really had that since joining Utd. Maybe will give him the confidence too.

How bad is Pellistri in training that he can't be a straight swap for Antony? That way you'd think only one position change would lit the drop-off in performance, rather than changing the whole shape and fitting players in unusual positions where there's a massive drop everywhere

Why is everyone talking about rest when there's a break looming?
    It’s mental
We’ll at most have six players starting for their country at the World Cup. Shaw, Maguire, Casemiro, Lindelof, Ronaldo and Bruno. Half of them aren’t even playing tonight.

Ronaldo's nursing his illness in Qatar right about now, the silly sausage. Enjoying the heat rather than Villa on a cold night in Manchester

Vdb has no excuses now. He's gonna be playing with quicker players like rashford and can try the one touch stuff with martial.

Nice to see the keeper change. Was hoping Dalot would be rested though

    Doombravka
Van De Bench starting is shocking. I predict a panic sub at halftime unless we are not interested in this trophy.

The rise, the fall, have happened, behold the redemption of DVB coming up

Why is everyone talking about rest when there's a break looming?

Because an extended rest after the Fulham game won't stop players from being exhaused for the Villa or Fulham games.

that squad gives me last year vibes with the defence and midfield.

This time: ETH is the coach!
Maybe the only way to see if VDB is a decent player is give him a run of games. He’s not really had that since joining Utd. Maybe will give him the confidence too.

I was watching Everton games last season to see how he is doing . Still did not see him. He won't make it here.

Sancho has supposedly been ill for the last 3 weeks now but yes lets start speculating about why Ronaldo misses 1 match day squad.

Some of you need to lay off VDB, clearly his imaginary wedding with Frenkie attending was all too much for him mentally. Will take him a few months to get back to his best

VDB must look better in training than Pellistri, because the lineup looks more balanced with Pellistri on the right. I'm guessing Dalot plays wider than normal and Bruno is tucked in on the right.

Strange we've gone so strong. Thought we'd see more rotation.

Because an extended rest after the Fulham game won't stop players from being exhaused for the Villa or Fulham games.
Let's not act like the majority of that lineup haven't been in and out of the starting lineup. They haven't logged the kind of heavy minutes for this to be a concern in freaking november, players who barely even log heavy minutes. What rest do Maguire, VDB, Dubravka and co need?

That little snot McGinn will definitely get a card at some point. Hopefully two.
