    I don't like diamond a d 2 up top, it means zero width
     
    I think it's a diamond to stop the central play of Grealish, watkins and Mginn in central areas.

    It's an overload in central areas.

    We have two defensive full backs as well in Wan Bissaka and Shaw to stop the situation whenever Grealish or the other players drifts out wide.
     
    I imagine Fred will be the one trying to keep Grealish quiet, making him the de factor base of the diamond.
     
    As we have no right winger and Greenwood hasn't hit the heights this season, it'd be great if we can find a way to fit the defensive masterclass McFred in but still have Pogba and Bruno in there.

    Let's see if we;ve found the right balance today.

    Was it the PSG game where we took mctominay out of the base and switched him with Fred and it was awful?

    Fred’s first touch isn’t good enough and it takes away his best qualities.
     
    I am not a fan of this selection, but I'd prefer it to be Rashford and Pogba out of position either side of Martial, than a diamond with no width.

    We absolutely need McTominay and Fred, their midfield works hard as f.

    Isn’t that the way it’s always been done. Certainly the back of the match day program always had it that.

    I can't remember, take your word for it though.

    I'd be more comfortable with Fred alongside Pogba as he can make up for the latter's lack of pressing.

    Might not even be a diamond, never can tell with Ole.

    I've got a bad feeling about this one. Feel like both claret and blue teams will do the dippers a favour tonight.

    Villa whom had the one extra day rest with just 1 change with Tyrone Mings returning from a one-game ban.
     
    Strongest 11 we can line up with. Midfield battle ahead, hopefully we press well to stay on their half. We will create chances for sure, so up to our strikers to convert them. Confident defensively with McFred and with Bailly next to Maguire.

    Will be a good contest, let's hope the lads went to bed early yesterday.
