I hope its the same line up but I could quite easily see Van Gaal suddenly dropping Herrera for one of RVP or Falcao to play up front and putting Rooney back in midfield which would be a big mistake. Also hopefully Smalling is fit as he is the only CB we have who deals with pacey tricky strikers well which Agbonlahor and Benteke can be on the odd occasion.

    Smalling unlikely to make it...
    RvP definitely out
    Shaw is back in training.

    Match rythm match rythm :)

Hope the same team starts as vs Liverpool. In any case, whomever's playing better get us the 3 points.

Need a good performance tomorrow to maintain the momentum from prior to the break. 3 points are a must, but dominating the match would be helpful as well to keep the confidence in the side prior to facing City.

Di Maria on the bench again we reckond?
I think LVG would be more inclined to give him a run out against Villa. Liverpool was too much of a risk given his dip in form and issues off the pitch with the break in.

AdM settling into the 4-3-3 position would be a huge benefit coming into the City game. I admire the progress that Young has made but AdM is world class and if we can get that potential back working properly then we will be well equipped for the run-in.

Hope to see a win and a convincing performance, or at least a convincing scoreline.

I would rather have Januzaj on than Di Maria at the moment, he has a nice pass now and again but the majority of the time i find myself frustrated watching him give stupid passes away, he always tries to make the hard pass than the simple one or shoots from 40 yards out and is way wide,

Apart from that same team as today with Rojo for Jones and if young is injured Januzaj for him although it will be Di Maria

Why would anyone want Januzaj to start ahead of Di Maria? *shakes head*

If RvP is back i think Fellaini will be the victim.

    Fellaini I think, is undroppable.
He provides us with Plan A and Plan B is almost completely based on him playing. He is our Plan B.
I think De Gea, Blind, Carrick, Rooney, Fellaini - these are our undroppable players, though LVG now knows his best team (the starting 11, who started against LFC and Tottenham) and I expect that team to start, if at all possible.

Why change/fix a team which isnt broken?

Against Villa? Not a chance, he'll rightly play.

If Young is not injured, then I think Di Maria will come off the bench...just as in LFC.
We shall find out though within 24 hours, who is ahead in the pecking order - Young or ADM.

Not on tele this is it. No chance of the pub having it on

If we don't win here, we'd have undone all our hard work against Tottenham and Liverpool.

Need to extend the gap given it's Arsenal and Liverpool tomorrow.

At the moment I am thinking 10 of the same 11 but Rojo in for Smalling because is ill. Possibly Di Maria might come in for Young too.

Smalling ILL due back 4th April late fitness test
Shaw HAMSTRING due back 4th April
    Wilson HAMSTRING no return date
Van Persie ANKLE/FOOT due back 12th April
    Physioroom website
No need to risk any players, especially after hamstring.

I'm a little nervous about this game. Mainly because we have done so well against the stronger team recently.

    Think we're gonna see:

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera Fellaini
    Mata Rooney Young

    Fellaini I think, is undroppable.

Because you have to find out if it can be better. Rooney was the obvious weak link vs Liverpool. Its obvious that LVG considers replacing him with RvP when RvP is fit, in the exact same formation/XI. But then again he wouldn't completely drop Rooney, but move him back to midfield OR LW. If he goes back to midfield, Fellaini will be the victim. And be used as a plan B.

ps. i know what LVG said today. Im just pointing out the obvious, if we had a striker change.

No Herrera would be the victim sadly and LVG has never played Rooney on the LW and doubt he ever would so not sure where that came from either.

Bench: Valdes, Rafael, McNair, Shaw, Di Maria, Januzaj, Falcao

I've got De Gea, Mata and Rooney in my FF team so we're gonna lose. Sorry guys.

Are you sure its not on TV?
It's a Saturday 3pm so it's not on British TV.

I've only just realised Villa could have as many as 11 injuries tomorrow. More than any other PL team.

Seen quite a few people dropping young. Can't believe i'm saying this but that is madness. As much as Carrick did he made our first goal versus Spurs. He was so wide he stretched the defence and fellaini had the space to make his run down the side of the CB. If we play someone who comes inside a lot there like di maria it could help what will be a very compact villa team. Keep the team the same.

I think Rafael will get a run over Valencia after his long trip.

Just realised it'll be my first game since arriving in Perth. Daylight saving changes and 3 time zones back means this will be on for me at 10pm rather than 2am

Can't wait for this game. Most of our players seem to do well in the international games. Would be nice to see Fellaini continue with his goal scoring form.

don't worry lads, we got this!!!!

    Rooney x2
    Fellaini x2
    Carrick x1
    Herrera x1
    Di Maria x1

    ;)

Can see Di Maria starting ahead of Young this time.

Just because it's Aston Villa at OT. If you want to build a £60m player's confidence back up there aren't many better fixtures to do so.

Of course he could theoretically replace Valencia with Young.
