We were so unlucky with the penalty, classic case of a goal completely changing the game. That second goal was diabolical defending though.

Players need to get their heads straight. A Spurs like second half is possible if we just keep it simple and keep playing the way we started. No fecking around with the subs either, if it's not working by the 60th min, Greenwood needs to be on the pitch. If we at least draw this game, I'll be confident of us going through.

So why not be proactive and play with the intention of controlling midfield, rather than constantly playing a central midfield that has proven time and time again it cannot do so? We have squad balance issues, no doubt, but many of our problems are self inflicted by playing those two in every game.

They’ll never learn to play the role if they don’t play it. Put McTominay in there and tell him not to get forward. He’ll make mistakes but he’ll learn the role and grow into it. He’ll never learn the discipline of you are telling him to play box to box.

Having started the half well, we switched off and allowed Roma back into the game.

I don't think it was a penalty but at 1-1 we didn't react and conceded a poor second goal.

That being said, typically, we are a better second-half team and will need to be if want to claw this game back.

And it isnt a penalty. It is easy to have a go at Pogba but he is trying to get his arms out the way. And it is not intentional. There is nothing he can do at short distance. The handball rule is killing the game along with the referees' interpretation of VAR
