Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • Went for 3-1 Arsenal win, hoping they don't score more than that given they scored 7 at PSV.

Most probably to lose 5th game in a row vs Arsenal in league. Not sure if my quick research was correct but that only happened twice: vs Newcastle in 1897-1907 period and vs Chelsea in 1968-1970 period. When it comes to losing 4 in a row, we lost 4 vs Brighton recently, 4 vs Liverpool around 1910 and in early 2000s; 4 vs City around 2013-14; 4 vs Forest around 1910 and 4 vs Villa in 2 different periods (late 19th, early 20th century and around 1930). What's interesting is we beat Arsenal 5 times in a row in First Divison back in 1983-1985 years.

Mostly meaningless facts but our recent record vs Arsenal is really poor.

If we win, it's the final nail in Arsenal's title hopes. They'll be 16 points behind assuming Liverpool win against Southamptom.

The rest of the season will be a cake walk for Liverpool.

Welp, I guess this pretty much confirms the same team as yesterday. Maybe Collyer in for Casemiro and that's it.

Oh yeah, totally forgot Dorgu RC... maybe Heaven in for him and Maz as RWB and Dalot LWB. For fecks sake.

We should borderline throw this game to be honest.

They'll probably beat us anyway, so just rest pretty much everyone that's going to start on Thursday.

    It'll be lindelof starting

    It'll be lindelof starting
Yeah when I went in to predict the lineup and saw him.. totally forgot him. Don't want him to start at all, not even come in from the bench, just play Heaven, we have genuinely nothing to lose.

    Onana
Dalot Yoro De Ligt Lindelof Maz
    Collyer Bruno
    Eriksen Garnacho
    Obi

Given that he was talking about surviving the game and how tired we were I think he might want to play a few of the squad players. No point in risking things.

    Game raisers FC incoming
As in Arsenal after they failed to beat and score against West ham, Forest in the previous two PL games. And of course to raise their game after the hurt they experienced when United dumped them out of the FA Cup with 10 men on their home patch.

We're starting all our first team. What are you thinking guys, it's Arsenal. Do you want to get battered by them? Also I don't see why we can't beat Arsenal, they don't have any attacker in the line up and their form apart from last CHL game is not that good.

I wouldnt be against Chido, Collyer, Heaven, Evans/Lindelof and Eriksen all playing this one. Rest Bruno, Yoro, Maz, MDL, Hojlund etc.

Just rest them all  feck it even Dalot, throw in that Amas guy

As usual we will turn up and give them a proper game maybe even win.

The era of us being a mid table team that steps up against top teams is here.

Think we will be battered 3 or 4 nil. There coming away from winning a game scoring 7 goals so confidence high for them.

I'd go park the buss and try to frustrate arsenal with:

    Onana
    Heaven DeLigt Yoro
    Maz Casemiro Collyer Dalot
    Bruno
    Zirkzee Højlund

Chido / Garnacho to come in against tired legs for Zirkzee&Højlund

honestly starting a full squad would just be stupid. We have been running this group into the ground lately due to having zero depth. Big ass game on thursday and been playing a lot of footy lately. Barring just an epic run from 2 of the 3 teams below us not like relegation gonna happen now, and a loss to arsenal would be whatever at this point.

Would love to see obi start. Getting a goal would be icing on the top. Also Heaven and Amass along with Lindelof and Eriksen should get a game to rest some players for the important Europa league return

After there 7 goal midweek I feel they’ll be confident and will score at least 3

It all comes back to playing youngsters till end of the season, and that's okay.
I'm sorry, but this is just a wrong opinion. First of all, Amorim has clearly stated he won't do this. And at this point, how can you be a United fan and not see how chucking a youngster into a dysfunctional team before their ready will ruin them, we have done it to so many players at this point, I can't figure out why people want us to continue down this path. Macheda, Januzaj, Wilson. And in the current team it's happening to Garnacho and Mainoo. These players should be gradually integrated at this point, but they have been forced to become starters and perform like 28 year old players and you can now see where the expectations and pressure are getting to them.

0-1 or 0-2 to Arsenal in a lethargic performance where we waste the legs of our starting 11, and Arsenal stay in 3rd gear and get a set piece goal. Can only hope we at least make subs in the game so not everyone plays the full 90.

I’m inclined to agree, we need to put all our eggs in the European basket so rest players and give youth a run out where possible. I fear he won’t though and we’ll pick up an injury or something for Thursdays game
