    De Gea
    Malacia Varane Martinez Dalot

    Elanga Ronaldo Sancho

Sub Casemiro and Antony on in the second half. Don’t think it’s fair to Antony for him to start this early. Rashford can come in if we are looking for a goal.

I think you may have the full backs round the wrong way and can I ask, why would you play Eriksen twice in 4 days when he looks tired in the 2nd half yesterday? Why would you also start Elanga and not start Casemiro?

I hope we smash them. I also hope, since Arsenal are looking decent again, this becomes a rivalry that was something like it was. I used to love the games against them.

Ten Hag spoke about Casemiro not being fully fit, and it’s a new team for him and a difficult game. I think Elanga could be useful with his pace, but it’s either him or Rashford I reckon.

Eriksen can probably handle 45 minutes.

Antony, Eriksen, McTominay on after 60 minutes

You are so confident you feel we can beat them with ten men.

That's definitely better but with Fred at the base with Case and I'd look to bring Mctom, Antony & possible Eriksen as subs depending on need

.I understand that supposed to be an allusion for that players names i mentioned.

Honestly it was just a joke post because I’m messing about, but your usage of allusion here considering the context of what you shared is genuinely fecking impressive

There's zero chance Antony starts this one, he hasn't really trained in weeks
I'm sure he's not been sat on his backside for two weeks whilst refusing to train, but I agree that he probably won't start against Arsenal, and will come on sometime in the second half.

    I presume it will be:

    ......................................De Gea................................
    Dalot.................Varane.............Martinez.................Malacia
    .......................Casemiro.............Fred...........................
    Elanga.............................Bruno................................Sancho
    .....................................Rashford.........................................

Personally I think Mctom is better suited to this game than Fred but as he started against Leicester, I guess he won't start.

We may even play Eriksen instead of Elanga.

Presume Anthony, Ronaldo + another (Mctom or Eriksen) off the bench.

Arsenal have a bit of injuries themselves. Elneny and Partey are definitely out, while Zinchenko almost certainly out, and Ramdale and Odegaard will both be gameday decisions. All confirmed by Arteta in his presser.

I'd go for a midfield 3 to counter the transition pace of Arsenal. An extra body in midfield would relieve pressure off the usual United CMs.
    -------------------Same back 5
    -----------Fred ----- Case -----McT
    -------Bruno/Eriksen --- Sancho
    ------------——--Rashford
    Bench: Ronaldo, Antony, Elanga

The problem with starting Ronaldo is that he has had no preseason. If he gets injured (unlike Antony/Case/Martial) he is going to take longer to recover.

    Edit: No Martial

    Ten Hag confirmed, no Martial.

I can't see Rashford causing Gabriel/Saliba any trouble up top, with Rashford up front they have all the time of the world to build up with no pressure.

    I want Ronaldo to start.

Are you saying Ronaldo presses more than Rashford?

Are you saying Ronaldo presses more than Rashford?
Yes I'd say so, from the middle. I feel like Rashford presses more when he plays out wide.

I saw Ronaldo yesterday putting far more effort to apply pressure on the CB's and keeper.

It is both bottom of the league anyway but I can't stand it.

Rashford's off the ball work is improved, but only when our team is on the ball. He makes a lot of runs and sprints when we have the ball, I have to give him that.

    De Gea
    Dalot Varane Martinez Malacia
    Bruno Casemiro Fred
    Sancho Ronaldo Rashford

I wouldn't really have a problem with Maguire instead of Varane in there for a bit more rotation, but I guess it's not yet time to risk anything.
Another option would be Elanga instead of Rashford to keep up with their tempo, he's been subbed before 60' yesterday so fitness shouldn't be a problem.
I doubt Antony is anywhere near match ready.

well we won't have to worry about them having a big CF and winning headers on our short Martinez....Jesus isn't exactly a power house

you know they'll play 4231 with a fluid moving front 3

    DeGea
    Dalot Varane Lisandro Malacia
    Casemiro Fred
    Sancho Bruno Rashford
    Ronaldo

i think Ronaldo with his experience could give the two young CB's of Arsenal some problems.....Arsenal FB's aren't great either so we need to isolate them and hopefully get some joy on the wings with the two englishman UNTIL we can debut Antony in the second half.

Interesting. I was expecting Odegaard and friends to put up the sternest test our defence has faced this season. Partney is also a massive miss. If both don't start, I'll be very hopeful of a victory.

Sancho also looked knackered last night but he always does after halve a game. He must have a fitness issue but he’s very useful for us because he’s quality when he has the ball. I’d start Elanga just because he’s pure rapid and arsenal will leave space in behind. I’d defo start Casemiro though.

Not seen a lot of Arsenal, do they play with a high line and do they tend to change their tactic to the opponent? Think it would be pretty naive to try and play a high line vs us with the speed in attack we have

I like that team but I think I’d chose Elanga over rashford because of his pure pace. Arsenal will leave a lot of space in behind and he’ll be useful for that.

There a team that likes to attack you and play in your halve. So I’m assuming they’ll be space in behind there defence. If arteta has some intelligence about him though he might not play so high. We’re looking much better now though at breaking down low blocks.

Even having slept on it, I'd still be playing Eriksen and McT before Casemiro. I think Casemiro may start, but it would be at Elanga's expense with Bruno pushed wide and Eriksen central.
There's just no rational justification for not starting one of the best DM's in football. He's not injured, he's match fit, he's he'll have had a couple weeks training here. Makes no sense on any level to bench him against tough opponents
