I’d agree in some respects, but Fletcher was better technically for me. McT still very young!

You're speaking with the benefit of hindsight. Go back and look at posts on here about Fletch when he was McTominay's age. He used to get crazy levels of abuse.
Sometimes people fail to see what players such as Fred and McTominay give us. It was like Liverpool fans with Henderson.

Not necessarily a bad thing. If he's the type of player that Ole wants then he can be upgraded. He would still be a good squad option and see plenty of game time though.They have a lot of pace, I would have liked to see Tuanzebe in to help deal with it, but I can understand not playing him given Maguire-Lindelof have been Ok recently.
I’m not convinced we have ever played 4222 it was a diamond in Paris and a diamond midweek, you can see before kick off how we setup as a diamond, obviously players move around so maybe it looks different at times.

I can't speak for people that posted those things. I wasn't even here during Fletch's early years at United. I did however watch him as a player, and I watch McT as a player. They have some similarities, but Fletch was better on the ball. That's not hindsight.

I have never heard of this praise back in the day when he was McT's age.Rashford, Bruno & Greenwood vs their back three looks tasty especially if Bruno keeps getting the ball. With Scott and Fred we have two ball winners. I can see Pogba being used the same way as when Ole first came here, drifting wide on the left almost like a winger, doing what he's best at.
No width on the right though, don't think Fred could provide it. Rashford or Bruno could.

Precisely young Fletcher was very strikingly similar to Mctominay except he played right midfield a lot early days.
You could tell it took him a long time to settle in and when he did he was quality.
Mctominay will get there I’m confident.See if getting all the centre mids into one team works then! Has to be a better trial than fielding James in a big game again.

Would have been a strange decision considering Cavani is an unknown and Greenwood is pretty much our best attacker.Was kind of expecting another 352 super safe bore fest, but if this is actually a diamond, I like the line up (although I wanted to see Cavani start).
