Reckon mata will feature wide to make room for herrera pogba and Carrick. Makes sense, I'd rather have his influence even if it out wide.

Rashford up top if Rooney is out most likely?

Rooney will be available, for sure. I think he isn't good enough to play for England so he is "injured".
And to be fair Rooney was "okay" in his last game for us, so him playing wouldn't be an absolute disaster.

Sky Sports are really hyping this game up, aren't they? They've even got a countdown clock on the go.

It's as if they're trying to re-spark the rivalry between the two teams by showing past heated encounters and the whole Mourinho vs Wenger clashes.

    Hoping for this XI:

    de Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Blind - Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera - Pogba
    Mata - Rashford - Martial

Should be good enough to get a win. Can't wait for the game:devil:

    This.

    Make United great again:devil:

God I hope not! All these first team injuries is not good news for the rest of us.
You mean in terms of us doing your lot a favour by beating Arsenal?

I'm quietly confident about this one -- we always manage to beat Arsenal, even when we're crap (and Jose's record against Wenger is excellent). I do think that Lingard or Young will play on the wing with one of Rashford/Martial up front. I just get the impression that Mourinho doesn't trust both youngsters to start in the same XI in such a big game. I'm guessing we'll start with something like this:

    ------------de Gea
    Valencia---Jones--Rojo---Blind
    -------------Carrick
    --------Herrera---Pogba
    Mata-------Rashford-----Lingard

The understanding that Lingard and Pogba seem to have works in Jesse's favour. Young is played solely for defensive capabilities these days, and as a pure defensive winger, he's our best bet. But Lingard is more of a hybrid type -- defends from the front, but offers a threat in attack as well. Jose likes him a lot, I think.

If Rooney is actually fit (doesn't seem to be the case), he'll probably start. And it's a tossup between Rashford/Martial, but with Marcus being more of an out and out CF, I think he'll get the nod (assuming both don't start together).

Our 3rd string defense will be tested in this match. Don't see Valencia coming back, only been 3 weeks since is surgery hasn't? Shaw seems to be made of same material as Jones. Smalling broke his toe. Will be interesting.

Laurent Koscielny is being rested on the bench while Pogba starts for France

Come on Arsenal! Do us a favour and win!

Come on Utd! Do us a favour and win!

Come on Arsenal and Utd. Do us a favour and draw!

What a great Saturday morning game this is going to be. :D:cool:

You're probably a bit torn, as us winning would suit you the best, as we're miles out of things right now.

Have you not seen recent events? We are down our full defence (first choice) and without our main striker. Arsenal are flying and top of the league or there abouts. You think there is no excuses?

Most of our arrogance has been knocked out of us, but we still have this blind arrogance for games v Arsenal.
Conveniently ignoring/excusing the FA cup defeat at home.

Sánchez starts for Chile, as expected. Kick-off in 70 minutes, probably a full 90 minutes if the match isn’t 2 or 3 nil + travelling from Chile to London...

This season schedule is beyond awful. Every time, we get a big game so early after internationals.

Yeah heard this all before. The game last at OT where we beat them with our kids made me realise there is indeed no excuse to lose to Arsenal. As arrogant as it sounds, they're the only top team I genuinely look forward to playing this season. If do end up losing then it's 3 points dropped for me.

Anything other than Rashford up front will be a let down for me.

Iv noticed they've been hyping every united game against one of the big teams while not giving much effort to the other big encounters. Shows the limelight is still very much on us even though we have declined.

Rooney supposedly has a knee injury. So are we finally going to get to see Rashford or Martial with a chance up front? Would be happy with either personally. Although I'm sure Rooney will miraculously come back in time to play, which I dread the thought of.

Something like that. Maybe Martial for Lingard.

    DDG
    YOUNG JONES ROJO BLIND
    CARRICK
    HERRERA POGBA

    MATA LINGARD/MARTIAL
    RASHFORD/ROONEY

I can't make my mind up on Rooney now. More of me is expecting him to be left out of the squad entirely and not be allowed in the stadium on the day if the drinking thing is true. Mourinho seems like the kind of guy who would do this, like Fergie would have. England team reporting a minor knee injury gives us the excuse we need to cover it up. Bad timing, as for the first time in a while I was looking forward to Rooney being fresh and starting against Arsenal as his record against them is decent too.

I'm hopeful that Valencia is fit to start as I'd prefer him over Darmian. I'd also like Shaw to start, but if the fall-out with Jose is true then the entire back four is possibly second choice (depending on how you feel about Blind/Shaw). Darmian, Jones, Rojo, Blind is probably the most likely case, but Valencia and Shaw in for Darmian and Rojo would be my preference. Carrick, Herrera, and Pogba is pretty much set in stone, with Rashford up front if Rooney isn't available. Wide positions are 2/3 from Lingard, Martial, and Mata. Lingard is probably the most likely just to add a little more in terms of being able to track back with a bit of pace.

Need to win the next three games for sure, and obviously the West Ham League Cup game if we want to keep the most realistic chance at a trophy.

    Worst case scenario team:

    de Gea
    Darmian Jones Rojo Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mata Rashford Lingard
    ---
Romero; Fosu-Mensah; Schneiderlin, Young, Mkhitaryan, Memphis; Martial
    (Possibly) Out:

    • Ibrahimovic - Suspended
    • Rooney - Knee Injury / Alcohol abuse!!
    • Valencia - Broken Arm
    • Fellaini - Calf Injury
    • Smalling - Broken Toe
    • Bailly - Knee Injury
    • Wilson - Knee Injury
    • Shaw - Baby.

How come it's on at 12:30 again - TV?

Smalling and Bailly definitely, maybe Valencia, and Shaw may be out of favour with Jose. So, possibly our first choice back four is out IMO.

Pity. If we had our first choice back four i would be confident. Not as much now.

Big match though. Win and we are back in the race for the top four.

Think we'll get beat comfortably with the defence we'll be putting out against an in form Sanchez. Hopefully we'll surprise me for once.

    If?
I don't think you are keeping up with the news.
It is true and he has even issued an apology.

They always do this during the international break because they know everyone is desperate for the proper footy to be back on.

I've seen cup finals and title deciders hyped less than our game against Liverpool earlier this season.
