Remember there being quite a lot of talk about Kessie. Had a really good half. Looks a complete midfielder type. Absolute unit, too.

Attacking injuries hurting us now. Plus the same thing which continues to hurt us when we can’t counter attack all night. Think we’ll need some individual brilliance to score second half. Shaw our only realistic threat off the bench which is damning.

Dunno what is this discussion about which team is weaker, our muppets couldnt make a simple pass from A to B whole half and when they do, that would be the end of sequnce.

You epitomise everything that’s sh*t about this forum.
so we are going win the title? I have watched United for longer than you've been alive, I'd wager. and at times this season we've been worse than the side that went down to division two. fact. but hey, you sit there, insult me and pretend we are United of 1999 if that makes you happy

I hate that we're playing tiki taka on our own half instead of just hoofing the ball to Martial. He did fine.

Our midfield is embarrassing. Matic is supposed to be our playmaker from deep.

Best moment was that Bruno flick and that offside run from James.

We aren't being outplayed. We have control of the game. It was first 20 min that was poor. I get it. It is always easier to be negative. Even more when there is some agenda against manager, staff and team.
We've been poor, but the desperation to paint AC as the dominant side is odd. They created one chance in that half that was a mile offside or handball. On basically every conceivable metric we've been on top.

Hang on! We have Diallo. He’s going to come off the bench and score

Negative lineup. Matic and McTominay as deep as possible, Greenwood again so wide and deep. By the time Fernandes gets it his only real option is to put a ball in an area and hope for the best. It’s all well and good countering City, but at some point it would be nice to actually play on the front foot.

No Zlatan, no Calhanoglu, no Rebic, no Mandzukic, no Bennacer and no Theo Hernandez.

They're a young side and they're really well coached. You can see it today. It's fluid; they know where they need to be. They can transition from defence to our 18 yard box in 2-3 passes. Pioli is a top manager.
When we play them at the San Siro, we'll need to find the little door that leads into Pioli's head.

Kessie, Meite and Tomori have done a good job of restricting passes to Bruno. The few times Bruno has had the ball he hasn't been clinical enough. Still should've had an assist if not for Maguire's shocking miss. Matic is too slow for this game, while the forwards have had no joy with the ball at their feet.

It's not all bad. Bailly has had a good game, Lindelof would've been burned by Leao time and time again. Mctominay has made some good passes after turning away. We're severely lacking options though. Fred and Shaw would give us some control, but Ole will probably hold off until it's the 70th mins for any subs. Hope I'm wrong and we go for it second half.

    Rashford,
    Pogba
    Shaw
    (That’s 3 of our best 4 players).
    Cavani,
    VDB
    Lindelof is usually first choice.

That’s a pretty long list and includes most of our best 11.

They have a comparably depleted team and they’ve completely outplayed us away from home.

This is what you expect from Twitter. There’s an account that just puts pictures up of Maguire pointing at things.

Played 26 games in half a season before getting injured but sure keep flogging that dead horse.

Sure, if you count 7-10 minutes a game an actual appearance. One of those 26 games you're talking actually had him playing one minute only.

Blame the manager, I don't know why he seemingly hasn't stopped Bruno drifting far too far up the field. He's hardly involved because he's spending too much time near the opposition box, which stops him really being able to create.
He is also to blame because the two times he did receive the ball in the hole he lost it with a poor touch. I dont think he is a good attacking midfielder anyway. He is either too far ahead when we need him to receive the ball or on the wing.

I will say there was the one time he was in prime position to receive it then mctominay failed to disguise his pass and was easily intercepted. Our team sucks!

Of course we get a meaningless victory against City against all odds but fail to beat teams when it matters. Same old story and I look forward to enjoying it 5 or 6 times every season for the foreseeable future under Ole.

Meaningless! Meaningless!

This place would have had chickens if we'd lost that and fell to third and you think it's meaningless!:lol:

    The CAF summed up

Having seen the replay, the keeper gets a faint touch which alters the path of the ball.

Maguire should still score, but it isn't quite as unforgivable as it first appeared.
That touch slowed the ball for Maguire. It was just a bad miss but these things do happen.

Telles disappointing. Well, everyone disappointing but you know what I mean.

Telles was meant to be even more attacking than Shaw and yet the drop off when Shaw's not playing is massive

All Telles really contributes in an attacking sense are quality corner kicks and that's it

Milan is not a bad side, I don't know what people thought? 5-0? We have been poor in last 3rd. But overall, I don't think it is bad Europa performence. Milan haven't done anything except offside goal and handball goal.

Really feels like a day for the 'we are an awfully coached team' thread.

It's like this extremely inexperienced Milan side have an extra man out there. Just woeful stuff.

All that said, quite keen to get out of the Europa so silver linings and all that.
