feck it!, we should've bet them, bit they can take a lot from today, got progressively better as the game went on, good performance.

Competitive friendly but am quite pleased. We look sharper, the attack seems to create more.

Just a little reminder of the pain and utter haplessness our club will put us through this season.

Only United could utterly dominate the chances, concede late on, get ahead in the pens and still lose.

All of this to a half strength at best City team.

Sancho needs driving anywhere to get him out of the building.

Evans you can't be as harsh about, but if your attacking mid who costs 70m again misses a big pen, there's nothing that can be said.

Not too bothered about loosing on pens. Some of city’s big hitters missing but we were the better team and many predicted we would be thrashed.
Thought we wee generally very solid. Pellestri isn’t a full back so I don’t blame him for city’s goal.
Rashford missed a sitter hitting the post, Amad should have taken the shot on rather than squaring to mount.
    Overall pretty happy.

Was watching it in the garden he's an average/shit keeper

He did nothing wrong all game.

Lets divert some attention to actual shit like Rashford who should have had 2 goals then we wouldn't need pens or Sancho and his routine shiteness.

Probably the better team overall. Should have scored 2 or 3, they had 1 decent chance and scored.

Not too bothered about losing on penalties, pleasing display and with a couple more players back and fully fit. This team should be competing for top 4 at the very least.

Let's hope we actually get a fair hearing into the 115 charges FC, it's grating they continue to bank trophies

Onana couldn't do anything to stop those shots, but he managed to make a clown of himself during Haaland's penalty.

Not renown as a shot stopper and is rightly one of his key criticisms.

Expecting anything from him in a penalty shootout would have been nonsensical.

A glimmer of hope after Garnacho’s goal

    Same disappointment after the match

I think Onana flips an imaginary coin in his head on deciding which way to dive. That's the extent of his penalty taking strat.

Why the hell didn't he take a pen

Why the heck would you want him taking a pen, when he can barely do his own job.

What was that idiocy standing miles over pointing to the open side of the goal to Haaland.

Then being miles off almost every pen. Woeful stuff.

Overall I left this game encouraged. Our midfield played with discipline and we looked coherent after the first 30 mins. Casemiro especially looked much better simply because he stayed in position mostly.

I also think Garnacho and Amad solidfied their positions as the top two players in our winger pecking order. For me it is Garnacho and Amad as the first choice wide players and everyone else falling in behind.

We need two proper central mids before the deadline and we'll be fine.

    Look, I know it's a friendly, but............

It's ten Hag and our late game capitulations again, isn't it? They've got the mental strength of a dying Mongolian yak.
Come on. It was Pellistri playing right back. It’s a pre season friendly for all purposes and perhaps the best prep for the season.

United played well. Had more chances. Dominated the game. I’m quite happy with that performance and especially with so many playing their first pre season game. Licha, Bruno, Kobbie, and Garnacho. Zirkzee didn’t play and Yoro and Hoijland are going to add to this team.

We have also got in some bodies in defence now, with De Ligt and Mazuraroui. It can only get better from here.

Looking forward to a much better season than last year.

Also, I hope Sancho missing that penalty just seals the deal for him to go to PSG. I don’t think he’ll survive this one, because it clearly shows there is some mental block for him in this environment. He scores that if he is playing for Dortmund.

Onana isn't no.1 keeper for me regardless of this result. He is just a very average goalkeeper bought at a high price. I am sure Ineos will find ways to get rid of him after this season. We played well but lost, I don't really care about this game. I think this is the game plan against City, false nine with 2 wingers attacking. As long as we don't drop points against lowly team and go toe to toe with City, Liverpool, Arsenal and etc. I will a happy United fan even we end outside top 4.

Thought we played excellent after the firt 20/25 minutes! Alot to take from that game and hopefully a preview of our attacking intent this season, Amad, Bruno and Garnacho behind the striker looks tasty!

Had a feeling it’d go tits up when Onana tried to wind up Haaland

As usual we fluffed it. Rashford hitting the post when it was easier to score sums us up.

A good performance today, and if Rashford, Amad and Scott had their shooting boots on today, we would've won this game before pens. I thought we looked calm today on the ball after coming out of our shell, with more of that on a consistent basis and a couple of additions in midfield + defence, we could have a decent season.

before we start rending our garments and slashing our wrists, we played without a recognised left back, a clearly half fit Maguire, no centre forward. a right winger filling in at right back after hardly any football, our finishing was woeful ....and yet we could have won by 4 goals. I think that was a promising display. Mount, McTominay, Sancho were pretty innocuous. Until we get some signings to go in at right back, centre back and centre forward, we're going to struggle, but injuries killed us last season, they'e likely to do so again. there must be a curse on the team. we don't need a medical team, we need an exorcist

Losing to them is always gutting but overall quite pleased with our performance. Having a forward up front with that midfield behind and the wingers we have fills me with optimism for the season ahead.

    Ah yeah. Forgot about that
That’s because you probably didn’t miss him on the pitch let alone when he was off it. His attitude and performance today matched that of last season. Can’t we just get rid of Rashford and Sancho, just don’t play them, I’d rather see some young lads given a go than see those two on the pitch.

Sorry but that's such a dumb statement unless you can tell the future.... Let's see how things go it's not like he hit the ground on fire in his ~30 goal season

And that should shut up the Onana=bad mob - I wish
So we haven't seen this before?

    Righto.

He played well though no? He’s the player I trust the most
He did, but it was so unnecessary to play him the entire 90 mins for a friendly. I trust him to stay fit and I appreciate that side of his professionalism. I just don't like how EtH has made him indispensable to the team that he can't take him off even for a glorified training match.

In terms of the teams that finished the game, we were well under strength too, so let's not overreact too much.

It was a very encouraging performance.

I can't stand that horrible little bastard Silva.

He squeals about wanting to leave City every summer yet he never fecking goes.

    Just feck off already.
