We'll lose i fear, but probably more respectably than in recent times

A loss is not the end of the world but we should see the team giving their all. Not getting spanked and being 3 or 4 goals down at half time and looking clueless with 20% possession.

We've actually beat them there in the league more times than not since Pep took over.

    Won 4, lost 2, drawn 1.

Agreed. He is probably our most key player in these kind of games. He’s the difference between having our backs to the wall and getting pushed back to us actually being able to offer a threat and play in their half.

He’s our best hold up player.
Definitely and when he's on it, which he has been in preseason and his half against Liverpool, defenders seem to have a nightmare against him physically.

If Rashford is fully fit then him and Martial are nailed on starters I’d think, and then probably Sancho on the right. If not then Sancho, Martial, Antony.

Either way Martial has to start for some semblance of hold up play, or we’ll be stuck in our own half the majority of the game.

We need another big game from our midfield 3.

Eriksen, McT, Bruno need to be playing like they have been.

How lazy is sky's journalism that they are comparing haaland and martinez when if they did some research would find they have already faced each other without no problems for martinez.

Today's result in the London Derby gives me extra confidence that we can win tomorrow when we are the only side in the league that have stopped a very good arsenal side that are flying early on in the league and can't see why we can't do the same with man city

    Martial is not match fit.
    How can he start.
At best he comes on in the last 15 minutes or so.

    Rashford hopefully can start.

Sancho Rashford and Anthony would be a good front three.
The rest of the team picks itself.

Is this just an assumption? He’s been training well all week and ETH has said nothing about his fitness concerns. Even when first coming back for Liverpool he played an entire half

Ya the record there is decent but the manner of the actual losses in recent times has been largely terrible - including home losses

And the manner of the wins were also spectacular.

What on earth has Martial done to walk back into the side like the last messiah?

From what I’ve gathered Ronaldo is rubbish and people have forgotten what Martial has done for the club in the last 2/3 years

Before we (well those of us that live in England) all go to bed, let me leave you with one final thought before 2pm tomorrow: no one is unstoppable. We have a World Cup winning, 4 time Champions League winner at the back, paired with the defensive signing of the summer. Haaland did score a tap in in that game, but even Tyrone Mings dealt with him brilliantly when City drew with Villa very recently. We can beat them and prove that we’re one of the best teams in this league.

New dawn, new day, lads. It's all about what they look like under the new regime. We love Dalot, we love McTom, Tony had an excellent preseason and a good 45 against Liverpool. We're ready to forgive and forget.

What on earth has Martial done to walk back into the side like the last messiah?
Lots of people very hurt by the fact Ronaldo’s return hasn’t worked out amazingly, so they’re washing their hands of him, calling for all other alternatives even if they’ve been shite the last couple of years.

I’d take the most boring 0-0 you could possibly imagine. It would mean it’s been a ETH masterclass in terms of set up and gameplan

    Just snuff them out completely

I can't see us winning, but i don't think we will get demolished, 2 0 to city.

Just keeping Haaland out with the form he’s in would be big for our confidence.

Regardless of allegiance, it really makes you root for Martinez and realize what utter cnuts a lot of people in football media are. It's obsessive and it has nothing to do at all with his ability as a defender.

Did Puyol, Cannavaro, Baresi, and Ayala ever have to put up with this level of trolling? Doubt it.
That and Charagher’s comments about “he should go nowhere near Haaland” meet the criteria of abuse, trolling, and click baiting. Things us fans have been accused of doing for simply discussing a players form/ability.

Abuse: They are, once again, singling him out for his height. Yet he’s not once cost us in the air this season.

Troll: The height comparison by Sky is what trolls tend to do, and Charagher will fully ignoring facts eg that Martinez has already played against Haaland is also something trolls do.

Click baiting: Will stir up debate, they know United fans will defend Martinez. They know Martinez has already played against Halaand.

Interesting that there hasn’t been a score draw in this fixture since 2005.

I’m more confident about playing Oil City now than anytime in the last several years. I’m sure we are the underdogs, but I’m also sure we will give a good account of ourselves.

Pretty excited about this, I hope Lisandro is going to pocket that Norwegian bastard so the media shuts up, although knowing them he could win the treble with us and they still won't give up on the height talk.

They're certainly the favorites here so hope we could pull out a win.

Feeling a bit of excitement and nerves ahead of this game now. Don’t forget whatever happens we’re in safe hands with ETH. We’re heading in a direction and playing towards a philosophy which we haven’t had for years so don’t all go in for the kill on Ten Hag if we lose here.

Let’s hope we get at these today, it’s going to take a special performance from us to beat them. I hope we go for it. 3 points here would be massive and keep us right in the mix.

I fear that two weeks without a game will steal the momentum we were building in beating Arsenal and Liverpool. For that reason I’ve just put a £20 bet on us to win. My first bet in years
