So 3-5-2 again. I expected James to start though. Not really sure about our counter attacks with Greenwood ahead of him.
Lingard in the key role is not giving me optimism, but hopefully he can have his best game for the season.

City playing their best XI despite being up 2 goals at home. Shows how far we've come under Ole.

Why are we going full force in this game considering the first leg result ? Would have preferred to rest Martial and Maguire.

City going all out attack not really fearing us. Could be good, but not sure our counter attacks is good enough to exploit anything when they have no Stones in the team and we lack Rashford and James. Rather Aguero will probably score a few.

    SOMETHING SOMETHING LINGARD

Can't see us playing 3-5-2 with that team . I'd expect Williams to start in midfield and play a back 4

Because we should never asume a tie is over when there's only a 2 goal deficit.

The league is far more important than testing our luck in recovering from a 2 goal deficit away from home especially while having injuries. Does Maguire ever get a rest ?

'Didn't we play against Liverpool with a similar team? It was with wingbacks and two forwards who sometimes moved out to the wings too.

Sky has Shaw in a back 3, that can't be right when you have 2 CBs on the bench, can it?

Think it might not be the worst idea against City since they got pace on the wings. Shaw can deal with that better than Jones. We will probably be shit on set pieces anyway and they will not play long balls like Burnley which suits Jones and Bailly.

Williams left wing supporting the thicc one I imagine.

Shows how far city have come that we are about to unleash Messi Lingard upon them.

My assumption is that shaw as LCB is a way of having a player who is mobile enough to cover channel runs, which City constantly do, and also offer some offensive out-ball when their inevitable press hits us hard.

He's there to cover the channel runs in between full-back and CB that always leads to a cut back to Aguero.

It's probably last chance saloon for Lingard.

He might be extra motivated to prove himself with Bruno being announced today.

I was more optimistic before the lineups. Still this is only slightly harder than the PSG game since we got no away goal help this time.
3 goals and stopping Aguero for 90 minutes feels like mission impossible though.

    2% chance to do it?
