Not feeling very confident about this. So many injuries. For our attack, we have Zlatan missing, for our midfield we have Pogba missing and for our defense we have Rojo missing. Think we should go for a back three. The 'Bailey - Blind' combination does not fill me with confidence.

I don't know if the lads will be able to give the same performance they had given against Chelsea, because that match was at home.

Their attack is very strong and I think most of our players will be involved in keeping them quiet leaving very little attacking options for us. Players will have to do a lot of running. Think we should aim for a draw, and if we concede early, then we should try to limit them to a few goals and them try for the equaliser in the last 20 min.

I would love us to go all out and try to win this, but it will be very very difficult, given our injuries and fatigue levels, so going defensive would be the best option for us.

    1-1.

    Aguero 11'

    Rashford 68'

Irrespective of what happens here and, yes, I know it's a huge occasion, I see the home game against Swansea on OT on Sunday as big as this one, because it's more a microcosm of our season and how, in general, we've come up short in the league.

Don't win on Sunday (and the City result, whatever it is, becomes less significant) - because it would bring out those 'demons' of not being able put so-called lesser opponents away at home.

We need those three points there - and a draw here would be fine (but we obviously want more, of course).

Fair point that, we are just as likely to win tonight then draw at home on Sunday and render it completely pointless

2-0 to United. Rashford with the opener late in the first half, then either Herrera or Felliani with the second around the 75th-80th minute.

So long as we don't suffer a heavy defeat tonight (personally I think we'll win) and suffer any more injuries, I think we'll beat Swansea as easily as we beat Burnley (and they've always been a problem in the past).

Right, I'm deciding this one now: United to win 2-1 with a last minute winner from Martial. City to go down to 10 in the first half.

    Early team news suggestion
It’s obviously unconfirmed, but some City employees are suggesting that Gabriel Jesus will start tonight, which would go down a storm with supporters.

Jesus has only played five times but his popularity would rival some cult City favourites and starting him would be a boost after the weekend result.

I'd be happy with the world's dullest 0-0 and no injuries.

Jesus will cause trouble for our defense, especially Blind. I'm getting more nervous about this game as it becomes closer tbh.

Who would've thought that the Sheik would turn to Jesus to be his savior...

Since City play 4141, Lingard can prevent the DM(Fernandinho probably) from receiving easy balls from the defense and force them to play long balls which we can try to intercept and counter. I'm just a little worried about Martial and Mkhi's work-rate to make this work. The good thing is these two are relatively fresh compared to other players.

In Regards to Linguard I was thinking more of his attacking capabilities rather than disrupting their DM whoever that may be. It Could be a good shout though but there is a danger that Fellaini wont be reading Linguards angles to block off the exit pass for city that will turn their ball possession into attack straight up the middle or even wide.

2-1 loss I reckon. FWIW if we both had fit squads, I think we'd win.

Those Blue bastards are going to be right up for this one. I'd take a draw, but reckon we'll struggle.
    Hope I'm wrong.

I've gone for an insanely naive starting XI.

    --------------De Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Blind--Young
    -------Herrera--Fellaini
    Lingard--Mkhitaryan--Martial
    -----------Rashford

Wouldn't surprise me to see something more like this:

    --------------De Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Blind--Darmian
    -----Herrera--Carrick--Fellaini
    Young----Rashford-----Lingard

I Silva that big of a deal on City these days.

Our best player by a country mile and the only player capable of playing the Pep way. He's the difference between 60+% possesion and 55 or so and we are far less capable of playing the Pep way without him in the middle. Him being out means we have a much smaller chance of breaking you down. KDB will play deeper and Sterling will play right wing.

I'd probably feel much more positive if we had a full squad to chose from. Unfortunately can only see a loss for us tonight.

Come on reds! At a charity quiz tonight, stinker. Will miss it all.

Who arranges premier league matches for a fecking thursday!

    Mourinho in 'lockdown'
United teamsheets have emerged long before kick-off a number of times this season, perhaps most memorably for the Liverpool away game, when the M.E..N. reported Young and Fellaini would start.

However, it’s suggested Mourinho has gone into ‘lockdown’ mode over leaked teamsheets following the Chelsea game, when it was known United were changing their formation to include at least five defenders.

A team did emerge before Anderlecht last week, though. So one could still tonight.

If everyone is pessimistic that's a good sign imo. I worry much about games we're sure to win.

I'm fecking buzzing for this. We will batter these Bertie cnuts.

Reckon we'll lose this one just about. Citeh is a tad more desperate than us due to the league being their only CL opportunity, plus injuries for us. Also this is their cup final, with double meaning now that they've got the CL on the line.

If both squads were injury free I'd likely have us down as the winner, but as things stand I reckon 2-1 for Citeh.

We have our entire first choice central line injured with Rojo, Pogba and Zlatan, any team would struggle at the Empthiad with such woes, and therefore I won't take too much from tonights game.

I can't see there being any surprises. We aint got too many options. Either three at the back or a back four.....unless pogba makes a shock return.

If I were Pep I would do whatever I can to isolate Jesus/Sterling/Sane as much as possible against Darmian. They will win that battle almost every single time. And if he's playing at LB, once they beat him, they will be face to face with Blind inside our box, and that won't go well for us.

From our perspective, we need to cut their supply to their right wing most importantly and press their defense and defensive midfielders. They have a mistake in them. We should be looking to exploit that and get Rashford and Martial to run in behind them.

You're likely to have 60% tonight, Jose will have United trying to hold you out and look to sucker punch on the counter.
