My abiding memory of playing Luton was wanting to listen to the match on the radio in March 1986 as as a kid and my parents instead taking me to Blackpool for the day. While my mum was in the arcade playing bingo, me and my dad were outside Rumbelows watching teletext through the window along with about 20 others.

Ah teletext, waiting for the pages to refresh was gripping !!

If Shaw isn't fit, I'd put we Dalot to the left. We can't have Lindelöf or another complete misfit there. At least Dalot knows how to play the position.

    It might have to be:

    Onana
    Lindelöf - Maguire - Varane - Dalot
    Casemiro - Mainoo
    Garnacho - Bruno - Rashford
    Højlund
Agree with Dalot being on the left although I don’t know why we didn’t switch when Lindelof came on. In hindsight a good call!

They had TV's with teletext in 86'?

something similar happened before and ETH explained that because the team had already prepared for the game in a very specific way, he’d rather have 1 player out of position than 2.

Meaning this game we could very well see Dalot on the left as they would have the option of preparing like that from the start.

Yes, that was strange. Maybe it was just to not rock the boat too much, but Lindelöf was on skates until his direct opponent was subbed off.

My dad still does this despite the fact that I've given him free sub to sky sports + TNT sports

Maybe because he wanted to keep Dalot on the right as he's an attacking threat there. Moving Dalot to LB to accommodate Lindelof at RB largely negates Dalot's attacking output, and it's not going to be compensated by Lindelof at RB. He's not going to offer anything in attack, left or right!

And of course, Scott headed home from a Dalot cross in the end, no way Lindelof is sending that in!

True enough. It worked out in the end, but we could easily have conceded from Lindelof’s side as well. I guess the result speaks for itself though.

We really need some fullbacks back from injurier soon.

Luton are going to play this one with a lot of heart. Just feel this is going to be a real tester.

I remember when we got a new TV and the remote with the hold button. That was a game changer.

Hold a teletext page? I feel like maybe that was a thing but don’t know if I’m just wanting to believe it.

    Yeh, Luton game shoikd

Yeah, but you could press the hold button twice and it would restart the numbers and refresh the page quicker. So you didn't have to sit and wait for it to change by itself.

I wish they'd feck off with these Sunday 4:30pm kick offs e keep getting just give us some 3pms.

Does anyone else think he might play Scott and Harry for their physicality?

Would this be playing into their game plan or just being pragmatic

He will play Harry, just as he would have played him if we were playing Arsenal.

If the last meeting is anything to go by, this should be very winnable. An underrated performance that was, one of our better performances this season, one of the few 1-goals wins where we actually deserved to win by more.

Seems an age in between games now we are out of Europe. Shaw and Martinez aside we have our strongest line up so should be good enough to.orrow I hope.

EtH will probably play Harry mainly because he's his best available option either way

If Shaw's not fit then I'd rather see Amrabat moved to the left back slot and Dalot on the right.
This ... Tell him not to cross the half way line, and to only occasionally venture into midfield when their RW is sitting in his own half.

Amrabat offers a lot more than Lindelof as a fullback (admittedly based on just a couple of games), and why weaken 2 positions?
Fullbacks are key to the modern game and we want at least one of those positions to be filled by someone playing their natural position

A reminder for our resident moaners:

Luton has drawn against Liverpool, beat Newcastle twice and given Arsenal & Cheaty a hard time.

After we beat them Sunday, no one is interested in your moaning. Try supporting our team instead.

We could win 4 nil and they’ll still find a reason to complain…”did we really control that game?” “It wasn’t really a 4 nil game” “xG was only 2.34!”, etc etc

I mean you're moaning right now about a hypothetical reaction to a hypothetical result. How many people do you think are interested in that?

Just trying to get ahead of it this time. It is not normal to be so negative after we win games.

Win tomorrow and we are 3 points off probable CL spot. Hope it energises the team.
effectively 4.. we have a GD gap of 14.. but yeah.. a win and it really puts the pressure on Spurs.

I still feel Villa will be the more likely one to drop off.. they are 6+1 ahead if we win tomorrow.. long way to go.

If we lose will you tell us we were right to have concerns about our performances?
