If that was true cup upsets wouldn’t ever happen and the team with the best players would always win. On your main point over the course of the season I’d agree with you and the league table generally doesn’t lie, but not in one off derbies like this.
But when we were good we would be regularly troubled by a team who would come at us with a solid game plan and a willingness to work hard, city and Liverpool were the epitome of that. This team out here has no plan, no self belief and a shit work ethic.
