We will lose and Jose will not be sacked.

Matic, Fellaini, and Lukaku will start this and guarantee slow, dire and embarrassing football.

Expecting comfortable 3-0 win for Liverpool but still won’t leave Mourinho any closer to the sack. Think he would survive even if we lose by 4 or 5.

So think defeat here will start to change the narrative though. He is successfully blaming everyone but himself and the media and the fans haven’t turned on him. If we finish this weekend 19 points behind Liverpool and 11 outside top 4 it will start to build pressure on him.

We defend for 90 minutes. Then a deflected goal. Ball bounces off Klopp's teeth and goes into the net. We win 1-0. BOOM.

I actually think total capitulation and humiliation here would do the trick. Surely we’re a proud enough bunch that we can make our desires felt if Liverpool of all teams wipes the floor with us.

If it was a one off result he’d be fine, but he’s not got many cards left to play. If he’s a cat he’s got to be on his 8th or 9th life by now.

He could lose this, then lose to Cardiff and would still be in a job. Win next game at Huddersfield and his name will be chanted at Old Trafford. His park the bus tactic has worked 2 years in a rowat Anfield, don’t think it will work this time though.

It’s same as Moyes season now, everyone has decided to see it through to the bitter end. Wouldn’t even be shocked to see us spend in January like we did with Mata.

United will turn up on the defensive.

    Liverpool will score, maybe twice.

United will only then attempt to go forward.

A lot depends on who is fit. I hate to play the injuries card, but I think if we had almost a full squad then José might be able to pull off another result here (and by that I mean 0-0 or 0-1). However, going there bare bones, not playing well... Have to expect a defeat.

If nobody else is fit in time from the previous game, then it looks like we'd be going with this:

    de Gea
    Valencia Bailly Jones Young
    Herrera Fellaini Matic
    Lingard Lukaku Rashford
    ---
Romero; Fred, Pogba, Pereira, Mata, Chong; Greenwood
I can't imagine getting much from the game if we go there like that... I am seriously hoping Smalling, Shaw, and Martial are announced fit in the presser.

In your coldest, most sober, and rational moments you don't see Liverpool scoring against what is -and let's be fair about this- the most messed up Utd side since relegation in the early 70s?

I looked it up and was actually quite surprised that we've failed to scored in 5 home games since the start of last season - City, Stoke, West Brom, Porto and United.

Quite more than I expected it to be, so it's certainly possible to shut us out.

    ;)

Imagine a attacking coach with this lineup.

    -----------------DDG

    Dalot---Lindelof----Bailly---Shaw

    Herrera------Fred-------Pogba

    ---------------Martial

    -------Rashford-----Alexis

Instead we're probably in for mou 8-1-1 bus parking school...

To be fair, half of those are injured and going to attack with what we have left woulnd't end well.

We could've done it against any of the other big teams. He's talking in general and not this game only.

Pogba simply CAN’T play in this game for me.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Bailly - Rojo - Young
    Herrera - Matic
    Mata
    Lingard - Rashford - Martial

    If Dalot’s injured: Valencia.
    If Young is unavailable: Shaw
If Martial is unavailable: Put Fred in and move Mata to the wing.

Mata is ESSENTIAL for this game IMO. He always turns up against the Scouse. And he’s in form at the minute.

I fancy Jose to start Fellaini and Jones over Mata and Rojo however. If we play Fellaini, Jones AND Lukaku... we haven’t got a hope.

Yea jose would never build such a team. I can see another result that saves him and then going back to hoofball after, driving the caf mad, it's getting comical
On paper that front six is no worse than their Liverpool counterparts . Their front three were brought from Hoffenheim, Southampton and Roma. Two of the midfielders came from Sunderland and Newcastle . But Klopp has turned them into a formidable unit. Everytime I think about I scratch my head how he's got them playing. And we've got players signed from Juventus, Arsenal, Shakhtar in our ranks but still can't play attacking football. :wenger:
because we didn't get McGuire or some other center back

its called coaching and it would be nice if our next boss could do it

I don't think I have ever not looked forward to a match as much as this...

I actually this could turn our more embarrassing then the Derby last month. We can't string three passes together and can't seem to deal with a press at all and they are probably playing the best team at it.

    Nightmare....

Pogba will be dropped while Lukaku starts. This isn't about performances.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all either. Would sum up the guy in charge of our club. A joke.

Utd will be acutely aware that a win at Anfield will lift some of the gloom around OT and could be the catalyst they need to go on a run and keep the top 4 in sight. Likewise, considering Utd's excellent record against us in the league over recent seasons, a win for us will really install belief that we're in it for the long haul. It's likely we'll be back down to second on Saturday anyway as City will beat Everton so we will need to win.

BUT.... unless there is an early goal I can see nothing but another tight edgy game. Another 0-0 or possibly a 1-0 either way would be my prediction.

There is too much doom and gloom in the Cafe.

    Cheer up lads.

There are pundits saying United should attack. Are they stupid? We will get slaughtered.

Bypass midfield and they cant win the ball and score on the break.

They have a hard time scoring when not on the gallop.

Play fellaini and slow the game down. There is no shame in this.

They’re actually overdue a win against us at anfield. Was it moyes season they last did in league?

I'm not too optimistic about this match. For a start, the match comes on the back of an away CL match. Two, United have been conceding goals like crazy this season. Three, it's an away match.

I think the best result United will get is a draw. At worst a narrow defeat. But I live in hope of an away win nonetheless.

Dont think i said that !! , he is the manager nothing we can do about it , does not look like the board is in any hurry to sack him, I have said before on here , he should be gone, but what do you want while he is still here ! to boo the team boo the manager ? We are where we are because of him and right now it is up to him to get us out of it.

Personally I'd boo the shit out of the manager while giving every player a (one-man) standing ovation just to make my point to the board. Including the players who need to be replaced.

As for the match, I don't want us to lose but a bad loss would be worth it if it got the manager sacked.

I'm surprised we've not not lost to them in our last 5 meetings. No matter how the team looks, Liverpool is always a close one.

Except this time, when the only thing Mourinho is decent at, defense, has also gone to dogs. We'll sit back and defend as usual, but this time we'll concede and the game will open up for a pasting by Salah. I already feel sorry for Dave for the blunders the jackasses in front of him are gonna make and the pressure Jose's tactics will put on him.
