Are you fine with being entertained and lose?

It’s a fine balance really. For instance, I’d rather lose 5-4 than 1-0 in any game.

I just don’t want to see us sitting with 11 players behind the ball in every big game this season. Negative football like that has no place at Manchester United imo,

Maybe I’m old school, but i loved our old (and very successful) approach of no matter the game, always looking to out score the opposition.

If one agrees to the fairly obvious, that Liverpool’s strength is their attack – and their weakness is defence and keeper – why should you employ a game plan that sees you kept in your own half by parking the bus? The only and obvious thing to do here is to put them on their back-foot and play the game in their half in order to take full advantage. But will José do that? I am not sure.

A 5-4 loss sounds more painful.

In fairness, in the PL a 5-4 defeat is objectively better than a 1-0 defeat because goals scored is a tiebreaker. As long as you don't make it a habit...

I wish Martial starts but have a feeling it's Rashford.

If Jose won't be starting both of them, it will make more sense to start Rashford not just to attack but also to stop Salah on the left. Rashford's pace and industry will come in handy against an in form Salah.

What kit did we play with when we drew with stoke?:nervous:

    Black.

But I am bricking it now. You just know we're going to be up against a side that hasn't yet shown up in the league so far, and probably won't again after today. I love/hate this game so much. Only at Anfield mind, I always go into games at home expecting us to beat them. This is potentially season defining for them though, and I'm more than willing to say that this early on in the campaign.

Generic footballing comment - first goal is key. Whoever is forced to come out and search for a goal opens themselves up to being picked off by an opposition who, on their day, are amongst the best in the league at exploiting oppositions opening up for them.

Call me negative, but even with the form books firmly pointing in our favour, I'd always take a draw if offered right now.

You'd rather lose than playing negative and win?

At the end of the 90 minutes, 3 points at a place like Anfield is all that matters to me.

I'm nervous as hell. Just let this fixture pass without losing please. Any negative result will destroy the day for me.

Screw entertaining football, 3 pts at all costs. If its done with a dodgy offside goal to wind up the scousers then all the better

It's no fun losing but it could still be worse. You'll be fine :)

Ferguson has gone to Anfield looking for a draw plenty of times.

Eh? We might win but I can just as easily see us losing.

With mourinho as the manager I only see us loosing against a team who has better individual qualities than our team.

Liverpool have none over us may be mane but he's out.

Mourinho specilizes in nullifing attacking threats of opposition teams. If he's getting dominated in the centre he has no hesitation in putting 6 - 7 men in defense and playing on the counter.

    I don't see us loosing.

Weird game to chuck Darmian in.

Even though Bailly has never been good right after internationals.
