Not worried about this game at all. I have a feeling we will win comfortably. With Lingard playing, the same three midfielders from last game looks likely. Biggest decision is Blind or Shaw at LB as I don't see Mourinho changing the center back partnership for this game.

    I'm a she but anyway.
I'd love to be positive but I don't see us containing Liverpool tonight. I'm sure we'll get back to the top eventually but the last few years haven't given us much reason to be optimistic.
Have faith, every time the media has a love in with any of the sides, the team they choose gets turned over because the players and fans believe the myth. I doubt very much whether the United players are shitting themselves over Liverpool, just as Liverpool won't be shitting themselves because of United. As Zlatan said, if your mind is not right, it doesn't matter what other skills or form you have, as you wont implement them.
A few early tackles and attacks in their half and game is almost won as they start to doubt themselves. Probably the first time there isn't a hot head in either squad, so it would have to be really silly for someone to get sent off. I fancy us to win it in a very close game, probably due to Liverpool feeling they are on top and someone losing focus on his position, e.g. Moreno, Miller, Clyne.

So is Martial not in the squad at all? Maybe he'll start up front in Europa if that's the case?

I've changed my lineup prediction too many times. :nervous:

You and me both bro, you and me both!
Now i'm debating with the voices in my head on whether Mata will be replaced for Fellaini, although I'd rather not have Fellaini start, but come off the bench.

I think we will get torched on the counter tonight and lose quite comfortably. Hope I'm wrong though.

These early rumours of the line up are starting to ruin my mood. I was extremely pumped just an hour ago then in comes the news of no Martial and the possibility of a Rooney start. Sigh. ..:nono:

Actually they somehow have in regard to Liverpool at Anfield. We've done them there 2 in a row in the league.
Yes, and 2 seasons ago we turned up and played brilliantly. However, since SAF gave in we have more often than not shown that we bottle it.

I can see Fellaini starting this. Brining Rooney back to the team for this game makes no sense though

Have there been any slight rumour of Rooney starting?

Ok I'm starting to feel down. These line ups rumours have killed me.

Talk on Twitter that Rooney is starting. Ludicrous if true.
Makes sense: use Rooney in this one and save the first team for the Europa - that should be our priority to get into the Champions League next season.

Martial has to be in the squad surely... the rumours about him being dropped though and the fact he deleted his tweet saying he was looking forwards to the match is a bit concerning...

Yeah, with Martial and Mkhitaryan out, our attacking options from the bench are basically Young, Fellaini, Rooney and Memphis (if he's in the squad).
Wait what? What happened to Martial?

It'd be so bad that I'd have an uncontrollable fit of laughter if Jose starts Rooney and Fellaini tonight. Two players that, based on the way they play, should be nowhere near the starting 11 tonight. It'd be an absolute gift from the gods for the scousers if they do.

Same starting team as last game.
Doesn't seem like it going by the early line up rumours. 2 changes from the Stoke team apparently.

Normally I would have guessed Shaw and Martial in but the latter seem to not be with the squad.

Then there are rumours Rooney is starting which means it might be Shaw and Rooney in .

ffs still over two hours to go  slowest Monday ever!

Steven Gerrard has come out on top of Sky Sports' vote of the top 50 players from Liverpool and Manchester United.

The former Reds midfielder picked up over 49,000 votes, ahead of former team-mate Luis Suarez, who received over 40,000 votes.

Carragher is higher than Ferdinand or Vidic

If the plan is safety first, then playing Fellaini wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

I say from that they only announced that there was a poll in the Liverpool Echo.

If martial is really out then im not confident at all. Feel like we'll play:
    De gea
    Valencia smalling bailly blind
    Herrera
    Fellaini pogba
    Lingard ibrahimovic rashford

Which is very meh. Ideally I would put herrera where fellaini is, carrick holding, mata on the right (since miki is out) and Martial left for this. Just our best and most intelligent players everywhere. Cant see it happening though.

Annoyingly not looking forward to this. Liverpool are far from perfect but they've looked immense in their big games. No point sitting back. We have to get at them as their weakness is the defence. I just don't think we will.

Our last two games at Anfield have been dire, despite scraping a very lucky win from one of them.

    No fecking way

Imo it absolutely would. I remmeber having this same feeling about starting Carrick when we played Barcelona. He's not got the skillset to play under the pressure we'll experience on the ball tonight. It's just an avenue of regaining possession quickly for Liverpool.

Same for ours. I'll wager that neither sets of fans are going to be too happy at 7pm. Really really am shitting it for this now. Would have been confident if we had adam and gini. But the rumoured hendo can milly MF is a world away from the stuff weve produced this season. United win written all over this.
