Why are SKY lining us up with 3-5-2 and going to do their build up on it when it could just as likely be 4-2-3-1 and the submitted line up was in that order!

352 makes the most sense with those players actually. Darmian and Young are wingbacks and McNair, Blind and Smalling up against two centre forwards makes sense.

Really hope that's not a back-3. It seems like it's the most likely thing unfortunately. Also that midfield seems sorely lacking Scheiderlain, he seems very suited to this game. Bizarre to leave him out tbh, mush like the Arsenal game.

It feels like LVG wants accurate passers. With Blind, BFS, Carrick and Mata on the pitch that might just prove to be our ticket.

Can they win possession vs us, or can we keep it and tire them out?

    McNair - Smalling - Blind - Darmian
    Carrick - Schweinsteiger
    Mata - Rooney - Young
    Martial

    Please

Midfield feels like the one from the Arsenal game. No pace :(

It does make sense and also allows everyone to be in their preferred positions. I would like to see a 352 and see how it plays out.

Carragher talking sense, even though I've been on the LVG football hate train

Isn't Peter Schmeichel a club ambassador? A bit critical of the owners aint he...

I don't understand why so many fans and pundits alike associate attacking football with the Utd way. We don't have to play the way Fergie had his teams play in order to be playing attacking football. There are various styles of play which can be attacking/entertaining.

I agree with Schmeichel here. We play boring football, and that's just not what this club has been built on, and the fans don't want it. We have a right to say so.

Aye I agree. Neville saying schneiderlin should have started, I understand the logic but he was shattered second half against psv. He needs a break.

Then LVG shouldn't have played him, and instead prioritised him for this game, where his skill set would have been much more needed.

3-5-2 actually makes a bit of sense for this game.

    Nullifies their counter attack somewhat.

Still think we may fail to score with such a lack of pace up front. Will most likely get over-run in midfield with the 2 oldies in there.

    Not optimistic.

Can't see it being a 352. I always go with the layout of the official United Twitter lineup. Usually indicates formation by order. It goes Darmian Smalling McNair Blind. Then Carrick and Schweinsteiger

Come on Mata, smash this number 10 role.

C'mon lads! Play like your lives depend on this result. Show some bloody spirit!
