This is all semantics and can’t bamboozle me. I can easily substitute any footballer at any team who isn’t good enough with just saying ‘they have limitations and areas they need to improve on’. It is these very limitations and areas needed to improve that make him below the required standard, as applies for any other player who isn’t good enough, but perhaps would be if they only improved their passing, dribbling, finishing etc (i.e - their limitations).
He’s no more or less ‘developing’ than anyone else. He’s an almost 26 year old player who has been a United regular for years. The idea isn’t for players to develop and become good enough at the end of their careers (with no guarantee of that or even evidence in this case).
And the idea that nobody ever says McTominay has a decent game on here when he has a decent game is total fabrication anyway. In fact, it’s only recently that many people have stopped making excuses for his performances. Go back a couple of seasons and he was being called a future captain and his limitations that you speak of were simply ignored.
