Given how ETH managed Varane in preseason, find it difficult to imagine him playing here and vs Arsenal.

Playing Maguire in a high line vs Vardy and Barnes seems a gamble too though.

Saving Eriksen for Arsenal. Plus he can't last longer than 60 mins - looks completely gassed afterwards.

Why is physicality needed? We aren’t playing a bunch of giants, and Casemiro is going to play that ball winner role. McT was pretty terrible until the final 20 minutes last weekend when we shut up shop and he wasn’t asked to pass a football.

I wouldn’t be against resting Bruno whenever Ronaldo starts.

Due to Ronnie being unable to press, or want to run behind, he tends to come deep and occupy the same areas as Bruno.

First choice would be Martial with Bruno behind, but for when Ronaldo starts play Fred behind.

Bit of a tough call because we need Varane against the likes of vardy who has pace but we also need Varane against decent teams like arsenal. Casemiro should be in though so he should help cut out the danger.

Good question… probably just the way the fixtures landed. Doesn’t help that arsenal will of had an extra day though. Could of put us on tonight though since we played early on Saturday. All the teams that played Sunday are on tomorrow. Makes no sense.

3 changes:
Casemiro, Fred and one of Martial or Ronaldo for McT, Eriksen and one of Elanga or Rashford.

Then use all 5 subs in the second half and we should be relatively fresh for Arsenal.

Arteta doing better than expected at Arsenal seems to have spoiled his trajectory. I could easily have seen him bail on Leicester for the Arsenal gig.
