ronaldo, bruno and pogba, 3 wordclass players, and yet there seems to be absolutely no method to get them linking up. its all just off the cuff. no wonder greenwood does his own thing and sancho looks a little lost. meantime matic is left fighting fires on his own.

Cannot disagree with any of that. Matic may be old and slow. But he is much more effective than Pogba, who is just so frustrating when he plays like this.

This argument loses a bit if you consider it like that: individual errors are something, the manager is supposed to iron out over time. Carrying that issue around for so long, doesn't reflect very well on the manager. Individual brilliance is fine, but it isn't something that can be used to defend Ole to a large degree. I mean, what do you think, that he worked out a plan for Greenwood to score screamers from 30 meters out? Unlikely, isn't it?

Surely no one is left defending how we are playing though surely? Some might still believe in Ole to turn it around - but this is very different to actually being content with how we are playing.
