You’ve clearly never been there.Hopefully Matic is good for at least the first half. That tends to be all we can get from him these days, but if we can get a good start and then hold out until McTominay replaces him when Matic invariably struggles in the second half, that will hopefully be enough. Of course, McTominay's recent form is shocking in its own right...
While I've always said that he shouldn't play there regularly, Pogba is capable of having good individual matches in a two. He just has no consistency.

I was being sarcastic, because that's the only thing left, however sometimes even with a quite predictable game( like every game when Pogba and Matic played together), things may turn out completely the opposite, so let's hope it is this kind of games, with Leicester out of form, some balls can go our way and we can be on the front foot despite not the ideal set up. Is that a better, positive enough reaction to the current state of things in our team? :-)
Problem with McTominay is he hides from the ball which isn't s good trait for a Midfielder
Also it came after a total non pre-season, as we'd played the Europa a month after everyone else had finished.
Plus Maguire had just come through that awkward trial abroad etc.
It really was the classic perfect storm, and not like we were battered on fair terms.Hope I'm wrong, but I'm struggling to imagine anything else happening than Tielemans and Soumaré running rings around the trees we've got planted in midfield.Come on now United!Not a bad line up in theory, a lot depends on how well Matic can keep up. His passing range is far better than McFred and might allow us to move the ball better from deep. His problem is that when he’s tired his form collapses. If that happens he isn’t getting much protection from anyone ahead of him. Maguire is obviously a risk too, he was already out of form and may not be 100% fit. But he’ll turn the corner soon enough, let’s hope it’s today. Still expecting a win.
Think they both started Burnley away last season too. Bossed the 2nd half if I recall correctly.

Ole's always played Maguire after a day or two training coming back from injury. He might have changed things if Varane was fit but I doubt it. Maguire's just the kind of player who can go straight back into the side.I'm not even excited. I usually am before United games but you know we either won't play well or if we do it will be another false dawn.
