Disgrace of a performance. We don't look like a team and we don't have a defence. Van Gaal seems intent on playing Rojo at LB so what's the point in having Shaw?

    From twitter:
Mark Clattenberg silently stared into the distance as Man Utd players shouted at him. He realised straight away he couldn't justify that penalty decision.

This truly destroyed my sunday and a whole week.

Those blaming DDG and Rafael are clueless what that's to expect.

We're all mad here after this...

The PL ain't no joke. Chelsea has Cahill-Terry as CB partnership and City has Kompany-Mangala/Demichelis as CB partnership. You need these experienced strong CB partnerships to compete, you cannot expect that the likes of Blackett, Smalling or Evans are gonna do wonders for you. When will people accept this? Someone like Benatia was a must!

It was partially the referee-ing (first penalty, ball went out before being crossed to Ulloa on the first goal etc.) but as others have said, United should not have bottled it.

LVG needs to the defence out and quick! Up front and scoring isn't going to be a problem

I will clarify it that the back 4 are more to blame than Blind, but do not argue that Blind did not play a role in shipping those goals. His responsibility is to shield the back 4 after all. A team failure.

The Cambiasso goal is the only one he could have affected, which Herrera was there and didn't make the block. The rest were CB failures from wing play and long balls. Nothing he can do there.

I felt as a tactical change we could have had Rooney drop further back into midfield when we were up. Although of course hindsight is 20/20.

I don't think it would have helped. Rooney should have been taken off when we conceded the first penalty. He lost his head, and the rest of the team lost their head. We have no proper leader in the team to keep us calm. Someone like Giggs, Vidic, etc., would have been invaluable at this moment, but we have none of them. Rooney loses his head, van Persie likewise. di Maria was the only one who kept his belief and kept calm whilst the majority of our team dropped their heads. Look at de Gea, even he lost his head! I've never seen him perform so poorly since the start of his debut season.

We need to change captaincy. Rooney is a horrible captain. van Persie would also be a horrible captain as he doesn't provide a calm, established presence. Heck, we have no proper captain in this side since we lost Vidic and Giggs.

I'm personally someone who doesn't like to blame others for my shortcomings. I guess many of you love to play the victims in real life.

We've still got hope of top 4 because Liverpool and Spurs are just as shit as us. Everton are better but I think they will struggle when the Europa League fixtures start building up. Chelsea, City and Arsenal will finish absolutely miles ahead.
Arsenal will choke just like they always do so i think 3rd is a very real possibility granted Everton do start feeling the strain of playing in Europe.

This Clattenberg stuff is embarrassing, really. He had a shocker, yeah, but so did our defense. Rafael up to his headless chicken tricks again.

We completely lost our heads in the second half. It looked alright until Rafael decided to have a hissy fit over not getting the initial decision, which by the way looked more of a foul than what he did to Vardy (due to the quality of my stream I didn't get a good look at it). But as soon as he got up to charge Vardy down I just knew he was going to do something stupid.
Our players really wanted to get back in front at 3-3 (obviously), which meant everyone attacked like maniacs. Case in point: the 4-3 goal. Rojo charges forward after passing to Mata effectively taking himself out of the game. We end up losing the ball and the rest is history. Now, you would've hoped there was a lesson to be learned here, sadly not it seemed, as Rafael did the exact same thing right after the game had started again. This is a thing I usually blame Kyle Walker of doing, losing his head like that, or really trying to look like he's doing something to change the situation, by making it more difficult for his teammates.
Also we had a couple of completely ridiculous shots from Rojo and Herrera which were frankly just handing possession over to Leicester.
Blackett did alright in the first half except for two mistakes or so, but he lost it in the second half as well. Hopefully he'll learn a lot from this.
van Persie seems like he needs at least a dozen touches before passing it on/shooting/whatever, this is not necessarily a bad thing (Di Maria for instance) but when you're doing it as slowly as he is the opponent usually has plenty of time to get back.
Rafael didn't look like he knew what to do with the ball several times and just chose to cross it instead. Which reminds me of the fact we're still crossing a lot. I feel like it would often make sense to try and probe a bit more before getting the crosses in.
I thought Smalling did reasonably well after he came on, which is good because we'll really need him the next couple of games.
Oh well, it was never going to be an easy season, it just really annoys me that we often bring it on ourselves by making bad choices.
    Good night.

we will never win the title with our current defence. Title winning teams are built from the defense up.

And what happened? Mata allowed to create the chance to score he 4th goal for Leicester and where the hell was Jauzaj? Moreover, we looked like we're missing wingers since they came on.

Still not LvG's fault. My point is that those players SHOULD have done more and they easily have the capability to.

Was there a foul on the halfway line before the breakaway that led to their ninth (er, sorry secon) penalty

Referee was an embarrassment! I don't understand LVG's substitutions, it seems like Rooney and RVP are undroppable eventhough they haven't actually done much. The players seem to be mentally incredibly weak, eventhough it shouldn't have been a pen doesn't excuse the collapse afterwards.

A draw would have been a fairer result. Yes, we were poor at the back and found it very hard to defend them when they countered, but the result was also aided by poor refereeing. One Leicester player should have been sent off earlier in the game and the first penalty shouldn't have been given as Rafael was fouled a few seconds before. This undoubtedly changed the context of the entire game. There were also other scenes in the game where I thought the Leicester players were using dirty tactics to get an advantage over our players. Anyway, we lost, however I still think top 4 is achievable. Our attack looked very good in the first half and was moving the ball around well. We just need to work on the defense and be more consistent. I still think top 4 is a possibility.

I think people mean that if he had given the foul by Vardy and it hadn't got as far as a penalty, we would probably have won. A few minutes to settle back down and the rest might not have happened.

For him not to award the foul on Rafael is one of the most baffling decisions I've ever seen. He shouldn't ref for a while after that. It was absolutely fecking blatant.

Defence is wank, as we all knew. But even at 3-2 we should have been able to see the game out. One step forward and two steps back, again. Now we have another week to mull over another wank result.

SOme very naive defending. Top sides would have just closed game down for 15-20 mins after two up and 3-1 up

Utterly shambolic defending, terrible referreeing and poor subs from LvG all combined to produce today's result. At 3-1 up it should've been over. Looks like QPR was a false dawn.

feck it, the more I watch the replay of Vardy vs Rafael, the more I just have to admit that Rafael was pushed pretty hard and that he hardly touched Vardy (who went down too easily).

I was wrong, you motherfeckers. But that's just one goal albeit a momentum-shifter.

I'm personally someone who doesn't like to blame others for my shortcomings. I guess many of you love to play the victims in real life.
Good for you. In your life in general, do you have figures with absolute authority who can't be questioned who make ridiculous decisions regarding things you can or cannot do?

Referee completely changed the flow of the game 3-1 up and cruising and Clattenberg ruins the game, we lost the plot after that and looked as poor as we ever did last season.Diamond formation isn't going to work imo, teams will just knock diagonal balls and we'll be outnumbered time after time, back to the frigging drawing board again.

This was supposed to be the weekend when we turned up the heat.

There is a reason of my choice to start Smalling over Blackett. Blackett has been good so far to do his own job. But playing at a central role in defense is a different thing. You need to command. Blackett is still green and non vocal, maybe even a bit too shine to order other senior players. Language barrier with Rojo complicates the problem.

Makes it even more hillarious after hearing Vardy go on about strength in his interview then seeing him fall over like a fairy..
Just what did Clattenburg think that was... or was he pickimg his nose at the time. Cnut

He looked completely lost out there today. If Buttner had delivered a performance like this he'd have been slaughtered. I agree with you there, I'm very doubtful of Rojo after what I've seen. I wonder if he can play CB.
Judging him as a CB after seeing him perform badly as a fullback is ridiculous, completely different positions.. Use some common sense, christ..

There were fouls in the build up to 3 of the 5 goals, and of course, the ball went out of play on the first. 4 goals that shouldn't have happened, and De Laet should have had a red, probably Varny too.

    Mind boggling.
