    I laugh because it's one of the stupidest things anyone has ever written - the idea that the most productive PL player in a calendar year is a "terrible footballer" is moronic.

    He should have done better with that chance, yes, and today hasn't been his best game, but your post was way over the top reactionary.
     
    The only players up for it look Fred and Malacia, head and shoulders above anyone else.

    Werghorst doesn't seem all that good all of a sudden. Not his mistake that ETH has a weakness for big slow lads up front.

    Sancho stood out as awful as well.

    Harry Maguire tryna make sure he's not coming back to the side on regular anytime soon. Why on earth he's not recognized pace of the game being so slow in releasing the ball.

    I don't understand, all of the players bar the two i mentioned are step back from the Leeds players.
     
    We can't bring the ball out, because we have no midfield. Avoiding giving the ball to Fred seems to be a tactic. We need Dalot to move up the pitch to create overloads with Sancho. Malacia and Rashford the same. Bruno needs to get his shooting boots on.
     
    How did Fernandes miss that ? Damn - there was a time when it was a goal if he got the ball anywhere near in that area.

    In first minutes he forgot his player on first post. Made a foul which could have been a penalty. Lost a ball as last player in defence.
    Guy just makes mistake after mistake
     
    And to think there were quite a few posters on here who said they were happy to have this shower of shit back in the prem when they came back up. Even I’d forgotten quite how much I dislike them.

    The other thing is how can a supposed world class CAM be such a bad ball player?
    Just compare his ball work to someone like Odegaard ffs.
     
    Doesn’t look like Aboubakar has been doing much at Besiktas so wondering if they would like to take Weghorst back?
     
    Have to say we've been far worse without Casemiro than I thought we would. Though I guess also we miss McTominay, which for all his shit, he is at least closer in style to a normal DM where we would be less open compared to starting Fred and Sabitzer.

    The level of football at this point with the squad should simply be better. I don't mind if we lose while playing ok but we have been absolutely shite today and its unacceptable, regardless of who plays. Hes meant to be all about 'coaching'.
     
    ETHs game plan is clear. Leeds defense will gift you chances, if you don’t give away any goals to them, odds are that you will walk away with 3 pts, especially if you have Rash, Bruno, Sancho and co on the pitch.

    Maguire playing long is also certainly by design. Without Casemiro we would struggle to play up from the back against a hard pressing team like Leeds.

    We need some luck.

    Nobody's playing well and Shaw must be on a bonus on how many times he can pass pointless balls to Maguire.
    Dalot and Sancho must be on bonuses for giving the ball away the most.
    Weghorst looks more and more pointless every time he plays.
    Bruno should calm down and focus on the football.

    They were even more insufferable under Bielsa. I don’t know why any Manchester United fan ever gave them plaudits
     
    We all expected that didn't we, hope was ETH would come up with a tactical plan to help the midfield battle. If he did have a plan it isn't working.

    Has to change things up rather than just hoping this half will be different
     
    One thing we’ve learned is the Fred/Sabitzer combo in midfield simply doesn’t work. About as much use as McFred, it’s been forced upon us of course which can’t be helped.

    I completely accept that but this is more than struggling. This is looking like a team thats never played football before. Its Leeds we are playing FFS. We still have the better players on the pitch than them.

    Both Weghorst and Maguire (Fred either but we have no other options) are exactly the players NOT to play against Leeds' high tempo pressing style of play

    Guess we can expect Garnacho to come on at some point, Rashford to move into middle with Sancho on the right. Maybe Martinez on for Malacia/Shaw as well.

    This is bullshit. You cannot play like we usually do when we don't even have a defensive midfielder to replace Casemiro and Maguire is not a tenth of the CB Varane is.

    Otherwise, we would just field 11 GKs because it's the easiest/cheapest.
