I have no clue who's going to play in our defense today.:nervous: My only sure guesses are Shaw starting and Valencia being rested, but even that I'm not completely sure. But all our five centerbacks could start.

Darmian and Shaw at fullback. Smalling and Lindelof at CB.

If Mourinho wants Bailly to gain back his place, better have him play some minutes before Sevilla.

This will be a comfortable win then; it’s what happens after jitters and murmurs about squad selection from cafe residents.

Sevilla on Wednesday, surely a few rested. Chelsea following that on Sunday.

    De Gea
    Valencia Lindelof Rojo Shaw
    McTominay Matic
    Mata Lingard Sanchez
    Lukaku

Jones, Smalling and Martial don’t deserve to start this after their recent performances. Martial should have had 4 last week. Smalling cost us the game and Jones has no business playing after that horror show against Spurs.

    Switch it up Jose.

I'd go Carrick, McTominay, Mata but can see it being Matic, Carrick, McTominay. We've got so many absences that we only really have two first team attacking subs.
I think it will be the latter. The last time we went with Mata at theirs, we got caught short in midfield.

He might even go a bit more defensive and play all 4 with Lukaku and Sanchez up top.

Big game hope we can really win it and push for the title. Think it will be really difficult though.

    Pogba dropped or injured.
Not heard of the kiid replacing him , any good ?
Bit of an old school "in your face" kinda midfielder, likes to get stuck in and from the bits I've seen of him he seems a bit more dynamic than McTominay but that might just because they're playing at different levels.

Can Mourinho risk it with a midfield two of Carrick–McTominay?

Matic completely dominated their midfield last time out playing further ahead. However, they offered as much threat as crisp packet flying in the wind. I think they will go for it now they know Pogba and a few others are out

Very highly thought of by all the coaches. No nonsense, great attitude and has an eye for a goal

    Cheers.

Think we will lose, even had a dream about it last night.

    2-1 shit show.

    Hope I'm totally wrong.

    Pogba is out.
Matic/McTominay/Lingard as midfield trio then, or Lingard as a 10 who drops deep. Pogba missed the league game against these with Jose preferring McTominay, so not a big loss really.

3rd best pressing side in what way? They have the 19th best offence in the league and the 19th best defense in the league. The fact that they're not in the bottom three (which they will end up in) is quite the feat. They are however not good. They weren't even good when they beat us but when you pretty much start with a 2-0 handicap you can beat any team by being defensive and wasting time enough.
Isn't it explained in my post? I will repeat it - they are in 3rd place for most times winning the possession back in the opponents half, after City and Liverpool. They press only in very specific situations though, unlike the mentioned top teams, yet are very effective in their own way. Just saying it as it is, they might play shit on a stick football but are good in those type of quick transitions and have effective press in their midfield and forward area.

Stop wasting your breath. Too many on here write off the opposition in the PL. I think they feel it's the same as the Dutch League

Yeah that could work as well. The idea behind my lineup is that Alexis and Lingard have free rolls where they switch regularly during the game. They both have the work rate and drive forward to guide this team to victory because let's face it: only Lingard, Alexis and Martial can get us forward. Matic and Mctominay will be busy controlling the midfield so unless we are going to play on the counter it's up to Lingard, Alexis and Martial to carry the ball forward.

We all thought that last week against Newcastle mate. This Mourinho team is about as Jekyll and Hyde as you can get. It’s a game of roulette as to which team turns up.

    Starting team should be:
    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Matic McTominay
    Mata Sanchez Martial
    Lukaku
