Anything other than a 7-0 hammering is unacceptable, its the least we can ask for if we have to watch such negative shite every week

"Negative suite"?? I do not know which matches you have been watching, but our recent performances were very well disciplined rather than negative.

I thought the same as you a few days ago. But it was revealed to me by the experts on here that when we were winning we were playing poorly and the 4-0 scorelines were flattering us. We also went to Anfield with no intention of winning and we are an unbalanced side that defend with numbers and hope for the best.

    I'm messing with you mate

Our squad is so unbalanced soon we'll be forced to play three at the back just because of that. Imagine Rashford was really injured, like it seemed, the only “attacking” option on the bench would be McTominay.:wenger:

Herrera is a decent squad player but him starting next to Matic isn’t working. We are really missing Pogba and the fact Fellaini and Carrick are also out is holding us back.

Still, we are outstanding at the back and Huddersfield have struggled up front. Can’t see how we don’t win this.

Funny that revisionism now, because when Matić was on the verge of signing, few wanted him and almost no one thought he would displace Herrera, who's more than a squad player and is just having a difficult start of the season, actually, something Matić is known for.

Since no Mkhi, I change my line up. Obviously Jose partly "blame" his underperformance on tiredness thus giving him a rest.

    ----------------Lukaku--------------
    Martial-----------Mata-------Lingard
    -----------Matic-------Herrera-------
    Young----Smalling--Jones--Valencia

As much as I love to see both Rash Martial, my six sense telling me that is not hapening :o

I'd like Lingard to start but Jose will pick Mkhi ahead of him, but he's been terribly out of form the past month.

DDG, Valencia, Mike, Jones, Young, Herrera, Matic, Mata, Martia, Mkhi, Lukaku

    Mkhi didn't travel.

Have a feeling this is going to be a 1-1 draw! Please let this feeling be a retarded one.

That could happen, but I can't see it being the case, we are just too good for them, and that should hopefully prove to be the case today.

I am really looking forward to this match, having gone to Huddersfield University, and worked at the football club for a while, when they were in League One, this is all a bit surreal really!

Should be a good day for us hopefully!

Huddersfield Town Association Football Club (nicknamed The Terriers) is a professional football club based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Huddersfield Town were founded in In 1908 at the Albert pub as Huddersfield and the Huddersfield Association Football Ground Co. was formed and, with capital of £500, set about purchasing the Leeds Road recreation fields. The stadium just started as a pitch but was still ready for their first game, which was a local semi-final. On 15 August 1908, Huddersfield Town Association Football Club was registered as a limited company with Fred Walker being appointed as the club's first manager.

In 1910, just three years after being founded, Huddersfield entered the Football League for the first time. In November 1919 a fund-raising campaign was needed to avoid a move to Leeds. Citizens of Huddersfield were asked to buy shares in the club for £1 each, and the club staved off the proposed merger. The team went on to reach the 1920 FA Cup Final and win promotion to Division One.

In 1926, Huddersfield became the first English team to win three successive league titles – a feat that only three other clubs (Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United) have been able to match. Huddersfield Town also won the FA Cup in 1922 and have been runners-up on four other occasions. During the club's heyday, on 27 February 1932 the club achieved a record attendance of 67,037 during their FA Cup 6th round tie against Arsenal at Leeds United. This attendance has been bettered by only 13 other clubs in the history of the Football League. After the Second World War, the club began a gradual decline, losing its First Division status in 1952. After two seasons in the top division in the early 1970s the club spent 45 years in the second, third and fourth tiers of English football before being promoted to the Premier League in 2017

Huddersfield Town's main rivals are Leeds United (although there is never a shortage of beef with neighbours, Bradford City). There are also smaller rivalries with Barnsley, Oldham Athletic and formerly with near neighbours Halifax Town. They play their home games at Kirklees Stadium - having moved there in 1994.

4pts from the next two games against Huddersfield and Tottenham would represent a good return from the first 10 games for United. On paper you would expect 3 points against Huddersfield, but it won’t be an easy game for us. This will be the first meeting between these sides since the top-flight campaign of 1971-72 and there will be a big motivation from Huddersfield to do well in this game. They are a newly promoted side and it’s the first time in 46 years that Manchester United are in town, it’s a great moment for them. On the challenge of facing United, Huddersfield boss David Wagner said: “We are against one of the biggest clubs in the world and we will create one of the best football atmospheres. We will try our best and will make this game a real challenge for Manchester United. We have to be at our very best to get a result.”

United have yet to lose a game in the Premier League so far, so the confidence around the squad is very good at the moment. We also have a manger that is very good at guarding against complacency, Mourinho will not let the team underestimate the Terriers. “Everybody knows the Premier League and what it means to play [in it for the] newly-promoted teams,” he said. “It's nothing new. Every team in the Premier League is good, every team in the Premier League thinks and thinks well that they can win every match and against every opponent. The place will be buzzing, the people will be happy to have a big club playing in their city, in their stadium, and it will be a big motivation for them, we know clearly that but I think we are going to be ready.”

Tactically Huddersfield still have an unknown element to them. From what I have seen of them so far they seem to be well organised in the defensive part of the game. David Wagner has been heavily influenced by Jurgen Klopp and likes his sides to counter-press after losing possession. If the other team manage to stabilise possession of the ball they then drop into a 4-4-2 shape defensively and play on the counter-attack. United should probably look to Tottenham’s 4-0 win against Huddersfield before the international break as a reference about how to play and cope with Huddersfield’s qualities as a team. Tottenham were very good at playing through the Huddersfield press or playing long-balls over the top to stop Huddersfield winning the ball back early and penetrate their high defensive-line in transition. With Lukaku up front United have a striker who can be brilliant when prowling the channels and racing onto balls in behind, I think he will be a big weapon for us in this game. Against Liverpool last week United played more defensively as expected, but were very poor in the positive transition (defence-attack) phase. The passing lacked quality and we seemed to lack some composure which was disappointing. Paul Pogba is a big miss in midfield because he has the ability to turn defence into attack with his excellent use of the ball, until he returns I think we will see a more pragmatic United. We are hard to beat and Huddersifield should struggle to score more than once against us, they will make it difficult for us to but I expect a narrow United win here, 1-2.

Subs - Romero, Lindelof, Darmian, Blind, McTominay, Lingard, Rashford.

There won't be many changes to the side because we are missing a few players due to injury. I would expect Jones and Young to return to the side for Lindelof who is still being eased into the team and Blind. Both Young and Jones's form has been good. Rashford picked up knock in midweek and will probably be better served starting from the bench. There is also a doubt over Mkhitaryan who was not spotted with the squad at the hotel so if he is out then Lingard would play in-behind Lukaku and Tuanzebe will come onto the bench.

I thought we were pretty positive against Benfica, but just bad going forward .

Anyway, going for a 2-0. I think Jose shuts up shop after 2-0 this time, because we have to conserve energy for the run of fixtures coming up.

    DDG
    Valencia - Lindelof - Smalling - Young
    Matic - Herrera
    Mata - Mkhitaryan - Rashford
    Lukaku

Subs: anyone who's fit + Martial

Hopefully we score early on, or this could be a really dull game.

Big win today to make a statement please, our form dropped a bit after international break.
I'm going with 0:3, with Lukaku scoring x2

Lukaku needs to get on the scoresheet. Strikers need to score regularly for their confidence, even when they don't play well, otherwise it will lead to a bit of a lean patch.

Unfortunately, with Herrera in midfield and Mkhi not doing much either, he just cannot get the service. Hopefully, things improve today.

Need to silence the doubters with a dominant victory today and I'm confident we'll do just that.

    0-4 - Lukaku to bag a brace, Mata & Martial with 1 a piece.

A good performance is just as important as a good result today. We mustn't underestimate Huddersfield but we should not show them too much respect either.

    Dee Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Smalling - Young
    Herrea - Matic - Mata - McTominay
    Lukaku - Martial

    formation 4-4-2
**McTominay is a playmaker midfielder with a purpose to drive forward and more like Pogba but not defensively as Pogba. Noting that he is a playmaker, it should help our supply for a striker. he has the skill to keep the ball safe at his feet and retain possession. He is 6ft 4, he is a strong aerial threat as well.

I'd rather choose McTominay over Mihki. Sometimes, I feel like it is time to use him in a game like this because we cant keep them on the beach without exploring what he can offer. If he is more effective, we would be more comfortable with him while Pogba is out.

Despite him being the player with the highest assist total this season, you are still going to claim this?
He got his 5 assists so far this season in the first 3 games. He then got 1 goal in the Everton game. Since then he's been poor. He's been misplacing passes and looking a bit sluggish.

If you saw him against Benfica, he looked like a different player. The guy needs some time out to sort whatever it is out and get his head back in the game.

Mkhitaryan should not be anywhere near the starting line up after that frankly embarrassing performance during the week.

It was Ali Dia levels of shit.

He's really been good for the first few games where we thrashed our opponents 4-0. His pass accuracy is shocking poorly compared to David Silva and Kevin De Bryune.

Drop mkhi lay both martial and rashford. Hope for an easy win.

I'd actually start Lingard and put him on the right instead of Mkhi, that's how bad he has been lately.

Still can't believe Huddersfield are In the big league.
Doesn't feel that long ago I sat on a coach for 5hours to see my other boys Wycombe bore out a 0-0 there in the lower leagues

Last season, West Ham's form WLLLLL in the first 6 games then finished 11th eventually. Sometimes we shouldn't underestimate them regarding of their form.
I'm not and was under the illusion they had done well. Totally expecting a trickie fixture.
