Wayne Rooney is finished. Marcus Rashford needs to go back to the bench, the kid needs a break. Once Pogba left whatever little penetration we had went completely. Schneiderlin understandably looks unfit and really leggy. They have 11 men behind the ball but being honest they have also looked more likely to score!

Must just be me then , in that stadium against that crowd, I think we have done OK , we have had most of the ball , created chances, our finishing has let s down.
That goal could not be defended against and the ref has done OK.
Rooney has lost his touch and Blind made a few mistakes, Ibra has done good since he came on.

Thank you, thought that was just me.

So many cowards in this team. It's also unbelievable how many sub par players we have.

The entire defence is abysmal. It's shocking that Darmian is so much worse in his natural position than an Ecuadorian winger! Giving him the ball in attacking positions is actually trolling!

Blind continues to display his tendency for massive changers at centre back. Shaw looks totally clueless too. Anytime someone runs at him he turns to jelly. Only Rojo has been average.

Besides Ander, we have no midfield. It's garbage. No runners, no forward passing, utterly stale.

Our wide players are displaying why Lingard gets in: constantly coming short rather than running in behind. They are a non-option.

It's a hotch potch of cak!

Its not that bad. Jesus. We got undone by a fluke goal on their part.

They are showing fight. I agree about Darmian, very poor.

How's we been? I haven't been able to watch the first half.

Just saw their goal though, feck me.
In truth, typical game against a tough team to play away.
Ignore all the fuming knee jerkers we've dominated the game just can't find that killer pass.
Problem is Rooney and Zlatan are incredibly static and people expecting too much of rashford.

So many people bitching for him to start then when he does and shock horror shows his inexperience the same people start calling for him to be dropped.

Typical of the season so far. Mediocre performance, but even so, probably don't deserve that score line.

On the plus side we've played better since Ibra came on. Whether it's him or just the team pulling their finger out generally, I'm not sure, but we managed some sustained threat for about 10 or 15 minutes before half time. Still not enough though.

Way it's gone this season, I don't see a rousing second half fight back and win. But an equaliser is certainly doable.

    Also, Rooney. That touch. Jesus.

I agree with this. We are showing fight.

A draw would be a good result.

    My notes :

De Gea : 4, could have save it
Darmian : 5 defensively ok, offensively poor
    Blind : 2 attroucious
    Rojo : 4 is partnering a U18
Shaw : 4 struugles when faces Lens, poor in attack
Herrera 3 : Will be red carded
Schneiderlin 3 : Will be red carded
    Rashford : 2 horrible
Martial : 4 only play when he has the ball
Rooney 4 : Runs, but not doing much
    Ibra : 4 ok

I reckon I could take Luke Shaw on, he's forgotten how to actually defend.

I have tried to defend us saying we have been playing well but lacking that clinical finish in front of goal. That argument only holds so much weight though. Rooney poor in front of goal. Surely put Martial there and bring either Mata/Mkhi on.

There's no structure under Mourinho. If the wide players are going to keep coming inside then the fullbacks have to keep the width and get forward. Then you also have Ibra and Rooney wanting to move deep.

Fighting back in this environment and getting a win could be very good for this team.

Losing in this environment will intensify all of the frustration within the team.

    Huge second half.

    That Rooney touch

And blaming the centre backs for that goal is harsh

Why are we not trying Rashford/Martial up front? Rooney/Zlatan is clearly not cutting it. Seems so obvious

With LVG United struggled at the group stages of the CL, albeit was an easy group, but still it was the CL. But now United is struggling at the Europa group stages. We have taken a step backwards.

It's fantastic that something as outdated as man-marking (as a team tactics) makes us absolutely impotent.

    Nope
    thought we played well.
I've found it better watching the match without being in here. I genuinely feel a lot of posters are influenced by a few comments in here and then it just snowballs.

If Rashford and Martial keep the width, we'll win this game. Not sure why Mourinho's so obsessed with playing so narrow. One player coming in is not too bad, but two players make the team very narrow. We need width and runners.

United football hasn't been enjoyable for a long time now. We have regressed alarmingly. Despite having seemingly a good squad, it almost feels a little bit like we are jinxed in that there always seems to be a missing link... shame.

Commentators are useless. Hargreaves especially, absolute muppet. How does he think Pogba has a dead leg? Clearly rolled his ankle, wouldn't be surprised if he did something to his ligaments.
Clearly rolls up his shorts and holds his thigh like

Remember Rashfords goals to games ratio when it was good and he was full of confidence and could do no wrong. Right now he reminds me of Bebe. Jose fault though, why not give him a game up front or a Fecking rest at least. Not a wild crazy suggestion is it? Better than the two feckers who are up top tonight that's for sure.

Will we see Mkhitaryan come on. I'd say no, all I can see is Rashford or Martial being removed for Fellaini or Lingard. I need a drink!

The Owens are so clued on injuries, aren't they? Terrible pundits though

In four months time, when Rooney has been playing badly in midfield for a while and people start saying he was never a midfielder and should be given a chance to front because he's a natural attacker, that first touch when Pogba had put him through on the keeper should be used to slap them until they cry.

The performance hasn't been TOO bad. We haven't Olympiakos away'd the game just yet. But it's getting there. Martial is the one saving grace. Jesus we need Mata and Mkhitryan.

To be honest that is the way we've attacked for years.. doesn't seem to change when we're under pressure to attack for a goal.

Right now couldn't care less how we play, just put Mata/Miki on and let's get fecking going! We need something out of this match (sigh)

Tbh, its quite shabby defending. The finish was phenomenal, but look at that cross. Three players around the crosser, no one close him down. Rash was the closest. Just as with Alonso for the 1-0 Chelsea goal, a free punt there.

And inside the box, several yards of free space for the striker. Either the FB or the CB needs to be much closer.

It could definitely be defended against
