The #OleOutPochin brigade is salivating since the travelling team has been announced. Twitter is going to be awful tomorrow and to be avoided like plague if we lose.

To be honest i dont care if we lose 10 nil.
Its a brutal fixture in a country that shouldnt even have clubs in a european tournament

Its futher away than new york FFs.

Lols at Lingaard having to travel all the same

fecking hell! How is this team in a european competition ? Kazakhstan borders china and they're still part of europe ?

Next we'll be flying to papua new guinea for a european night.

I also want to know if the lineup prediction players list will be updated, otherwise we doomed

but in regards to the game, like the approach, fine for the young ones to get this game, however we have not cemented 1st place so let's hope it won't bite us in the ass when group stages are over and we do the draw.
That said I think most would expect a victory anyhow at home vs. AZ, but we were awful against them away and were lucky to get a point there

    Madness. Its closer to beijing

    @Niall @Damien

Apologies if you have already answered this but is the lineup predictor going to be getting updated with the youngsters that have travelled to Kazakhstan for this game or are we giving it a miss for this game and no points will be awarded as it’s quite a hassle to update?

yes it will be updated tomorrow

Can’t seem to access line up prediction page. Link opens the match thread. :wenger:

With the early deadline plus it being a weekday I don't think it's fair for everyone if new players are added tomorrow. Won't give people much time to edit their predictions. Should just let it stay as it is imo. Plus the prediction page won't be clogged up by random u18 players that probably won't be in the squad again this season.

The players need to be added for the lineup, man of the match votes, ratings etc. It’s not just for the lineup predictions.

The link to pick your line-up is on the right, the link from the main page opened in a new screen for me that was smaller and cut off the right part, but if you open the game thread normally you should see the link on the right.

That's fine by me. Just saying there will be some grumpy faces on here when they realise they've missed out on the new players because they weren't online before the 13:50 deadline.

    Just seen 3.50pm, wowza.

It is freezing over there, -9°C tomorrow in the afternoon. -20 in the night, currently -14. Absolute punishment for our players

Its a transcontinental state and a former Soviet state. And Soviet was classed as European, so this way its easy to understand why some of the people consider themself european, but cultrually is more Asian. And also geographically some parts of wester kazak is located in Europe. Kazakhstan is also one of the most populous countries in the world in terms of ethnicities, with 131 represented, from Kazakhs to Russians, Germans, Tatars and Uyghurs.

Turkey only has Istanbul in Europe, Geographically. A part from Istanbul its all located in Asia. And also 99,9% or so of Georgia is located in Asia, but has been "European" for a long time.

And Russia is a bit funny too, 75% of the population lives in the European part, but 75% for the country is in Asia.

You might not find this interesting at all though.

It's indoors with heating. They'll be fine.

Pretty sure it'll still be around freezing. In the past Astana have left it cold on purpose to benefit them. Would imagine they do it again tomorrow.

Would be pretty surprised if United get anything from the game. It's a huge step up for the kids in terms of physicality. Astro pitch isn't great either, watched Gomes, Greenwood and Chong really struggle on YB's pitch last year in UYL as well. Will be interesting to see how they get on, good experience for them either way.

Enjoyed reading that. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with this Niall. This is one of my passions on the caf taking part in this competition. I am working all day today and it's an early kick off. I haven't been able to submit my line up as it doesn't currently include all of the players. I think this round should be vetoed.

I can't actually submit a full 11 as there aren't enough players that are in the squad for this game to choose from.

Could admins please also add relevant topics to the player performance forum (for Laird, Bernard, Levitt)? Quite a few players will actually play an official game now, so respective performance topics will be needed.

Getting late downunder to make predictions. When are the other players going to be added?

Game is at 4:40am here. That's no way I can make a prediction with the 2 hour cut off.

Good thing Vladivostok never qualified for Europe.

Forget Stoke, imagine "the cold winter Thursday night at Vladivostok". Haha

If Jesse Lingard can't influence this game, he is done out here.

I imagine we'll play shite, scrape a win and be told we've turned a corner (the fact that it leads down a dead-end will be passed over). Going for us to win 1-0. Frankly, even though it's a dead rubber, if we lose it would be a disgrace (on top o many of those so far this season)

have I joined late and this has already been pointed out? but reading Jose's mind won't help anyone pick the team (see right)!

    Good to see the youth.

I remember certain people attacking the idea of playing lots of them together as reckless. Of course now Ole has done it they'll sing a different tune the sycophants

Even with the squad selected? Bit harsh given age/experience.

We have turned so many corners under Ole, only to go nowhere.
