Lets have a quick look at this.
1: We're not organized in any way whatsoever, our fullbacks have pushed high up as well.
Fred sees that Matic has two Everton players close by and he should be well aware that we're not balanced. Nor does Matic have any clear passing options afterwards.
2: Fred ignores the above and passes the ball to Matic, Everton players are instantly on him and his lack of awareness results in Everton winning the ball and countering against us. Fred is so fecking useless in that situation that he doesn't even move into position so he can receive the ball again. All he does is give away responsibility
3: Richarlison is played through , AWB struggles to catch up. Linde and Maguire are correctly placed.
4: Richarlison attempts the pass to Iwobi, bit of luck when it rolls to Gordon
There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with Maguires positioning or decision making in this situation.
It is honestly beyond me how someone can display such a lack of intelligence that they look at the situation and go "oh, fecking Maguire again".
Why did Fred attempt to pass the ball to a teammate that is surrounded by opponents in centre midfield when we're not in balance? Why did Matic think he had time to turn instead of quickly getting rid of the ball. Why is Matic suddenly the furthest player behind with Gordon completely free outside our box?
There's so many things to focus on, and somehow there are fans that end up thinking that the main problem in the situation was fecking Maguire.
