    Henderson
    Williams Tuanzebe Bailly Telles
    Matic
    van de Beek Pogba
    Lingard
    Greenwood Cavani
To me, this provides the best option for us tonight, resting players, and giving others minutes. I think Lingard should start just to have more pace in the attack, and can easily switch to the left during the game, with Greenwood on the right.

Everton will go all out for this.

Will be a difficult night if we rest too many of our key players.

Would like to see Donny and Cavani start.

If this happened to Klopp he would be cry-wanking to the media for the next few months
Just looked at their fixtures over the festive week. They last played Saturday lunchtime, they then play Sunday, Wednesday and then Monday. At least 4 days between games where most teams are playing 48 hours after the other including some of their opponents.

    Henderson
    TFM--Bailly--Maguire--Telles
    Matic--Pogba
    Mata--VdB--Greenwood
    Cavani

Subs: Grant; Williams, Tuanzebe; Fred, Galbraith, Fernandes; Lingard, Rashford, Martial

If Tuanezbe is not fit enough then put Lindelof on the bench. I want Rashford and Fernandes rested altogether but I think they will be on the bench. If we do rest then altogether then I'd have James and Pellistri on the bench.

I don't see him starting players like TFM etc he seems to take cups seriously and stated we are desperate to win something so I fear Maguire, Bruno etc will start.

    What I want:

    Henderson
    TFM--Bailly--Tuanzabe--Telles
    Matic--Pogba
    Pellistri--VdB--Greenwood
    Cavani

What I think we will get:

    Henderson
    Williams--Lindelof--Maguire--Shaw
    Fred--Pogba
    Mata--Bruno--Rashford
    Cavani

Would be nice to win a cup this year. I just hope we do rotate though because we have to try and capitalise on our league position which is the primary concern imo.

Hopefully our bench options can get it done tonight.

I'd happily rest the likes of Martial, Rashford, Bruno. Need to focus on the Leicester game. Going out would not be a disaster, a win would be a bonus.

    Is Pellistri in the squad

This game got slightly more interesting with the possibility of playing Brentford in the semi-final. Still feel Everton will be majorly up for this and United will play their second side so not overly bothered right now.

Both teams should make changes but I hope we play a full 2nd string

What do we think Everton will do?

Full strength or a mixture I'd imagine Ancelloti will be viewing this as a realistic route into European competition and also get the club a long awaited trophy they've spend the last 26 years craving.

I think considering Everton are way ahead of schedule in the league and they've got a good chance at a trophy, they'll probably go full strength.

    I'd go:

    Henderson
    Williams Tuanzebe Maguire Telles
    Matic
    VDB Pogba
    Greenwood Martial
    Cavani
Only 2 of them started at the weekend, Martial who was suspended earlier in the season and Maguire who hasn't rested since the 7th day. I think that is a pretty decent team, the front 5 in particular.

Would obviously love us to win the League Cup, but this is the time to rest Rashford and Fernandez for me.

By all accounts wholesale changes to the United starting 11 tonight while Everton with a few injuries are expected to go with their strongest possible starting 11.

If Maguire starts tonight it might mean his contract states that he must start every game when fit?

Or that Axel / Bailly is maybe too risky for us?

I think Ancelotti will play a strong side. But I am not sure why, it's just a feeling, because they play Sheffield United in the WE, so they can afford to go strong physically in this game.

We will have to ride that one, not sure how our other players, who on paper are quite good, are going to deal with it.
If they are as motivated and physically fit as the team that played against Leeds, we will eat Everton alive, with or without Bruno.
If not, it will be a long night.
It's up to them to show us how they want to roll as part of the United squad.

Our manager need's a trophy so we should put out a strong team:

    Henderson

    Bailly - Lindalof - Maguire - Williams

    Fred - Matic - Pogba

    Mata

    Greenwood - Cavani

Full rotation and the diamond I’d go with...

    Henderson

    Williams
    Tuanzebe
    Bailly
    Telles

    Matic
    VdB
    Pogba
    Mata

    Greenwood
    Cavani

Still a good team on paper, nice to have a strong squad again.

Heavy rotation, of course. I’d like to see TFM get the start today, unless management have already decided to ship him out. This could be a shop window occasion for Lingard, who for me at least should be shipped out as soon as possible so that he can fully concentrate on his business pursuits elsewhere.

If we win this, I guarantee we'll get Spurs in the semis and City will get Brentford.
Nah, I'm fairly confident with Mourinho's record and the whole second season thing, Spurs will be getting Brentford.

Spurs were due to face Leyton Orient away in the third round but were given a Bye after Orient had a Coronavirus outbreak. Now tonight they're going up against a side that have a goalkeeper crisis (can either play a 19-year-old with no first team appearances or a 37-year-old who hasn't played a league game in two years)

People setting themselves up for disappointment if you think he's heavily rotating the squad. He's desperate to win a trophy. Basically said as much in his press conference

Guaranteed that most of the people saying this isn't an important game and they don't care about it, will be raging if we don't win.
I promise you I won't. I'll only rage if we play the likes of Bruno, Rashford, Fred, and so on in an irrelevant, unnecessary competition.

Great to hear. Can't fault Ole for going for everything he can apart from failing last season.

It is what we want to see from a United manager. Apart from the 10% vocal fans only wanting top 4 over trophies and participate in CL trophy.

City,Utd,Chelsea winning it over the last few years should tell that it’s neither irrelevant or unnecessary

Let's be honest... There is zero chance of us getting Brentford.

When was the last time a draw went for us like that!?

Aside from not giving a hoot about the league cup, I'd love to see some of our younger players get a full 90mins tonight. Bruno should be nowhere near the team tonight and chilling at home with his feet up.

    Why?

We also won it in 2017 and it didn't kickstart some massive run of success.

With this season's fixture congestion, it's borderline irresponsible to take this cup seriously.

I love seeing Mata in the AM role, but when was the last time it actually happened?
