Johnny Evans comes on. Gets the ball, looks around, Jones tells him to lay it back to De Gea, he declines. Smacks it up the line, panics when it comes back, dawdles like a fox caught in the headlights and then slips and presents them a chance.

Classic. Really thought of all of the defenders, he'd have gelled to Louis' style best at the start of the season. How wrong I was!

It was just bonkers. Declining advice from a well placed team mate, just to smash it long, aimlessly.

I bet he yelled "'ave it!" as he hit it as well.

Didn't think the first half was that bad, Palace haven't done anything to make us worry. Fellaini has been anonymous, if it wasn't for the injuries Id haul him off.

It's been ok so far, but this 1 goal lead is dangerous. Need to get a second quickly in the second half. The amount of injuries we are racking up here is ridiculously frustrating. I don't expect to see Rooney come back out, if he does it won't be for long. Jones at left back with Evans at centre back is a worry too.

Coming in at half time 1-0 up whilst playing on a bog of a pitch at a difficult ground, and having two injuries which has totally disrupted our rhythm, and people in here acting like we are 4-0 down.

Just hold on lads ffs! We need points here. Bricking it right now...

Every touch on the football seems like handwork from our players. Unbelievable how average we are on the ball. The pitch is shit to be honest but still.

I'd blame this Sunday league pitch to be honest.

We're not keeping the ball well today, getting overrun in midfield too.

Was it raining heavily in London today, or is it a Pardew counter-philosophy to make the pitch impossible to play on?

The pitch looks too slippery and we were re ckless in possession so far. Need a better second half from Herrara and Fellaini.
Don't we have any spare boots for the players?

Result is good but we've been all over the place, give me the controlled tempo that LvG preaches than this.

Redknapp must be delighted to be working with Henry. No longer the worst pundit on sky

Henry talking about handball decisions, at least they've asked a pro.

Just got in from work. I'm not sure I think it's a penalty IMO. I don't think Oliver can see it either from the angle he was at.

    Not complaining though...

I can see why Rooney called out SAF on strengthening the team. It's another game and another season where his attacking talents are being completely wasted in a midfield position and he's getting the shit kicked out of him to boot.

Rooney's touch could've been better but as was mentioned, there are two players on him. Fellaini is being afforded a ton of space to Rooney's left but he's not making any runs with the ball. I can't wait for Depay to give this team some proper wing play next season, as I'm sick of Young and Valencia getting positions in the last third and producing nothing.

The injury to Shaw might sink us in this. Evans was okay after going down along the touchline but with Jones on the left, Young won't be getting outlets that Shaw was providing. Jones was also making good carries across the midfield and our play seemed to push off to the wings after he moved. The pitch is in disgusting shape, the kind that might help a scrappy side like Palace to score on a bounce.

Game is there for the taking but Palace look much closer to scoring.

We look a mess on most areas. I don't think Rooney has done anything to prove he is worth even half of his weekly wages. Maybe it's time for him to go and build a proper team. Problem is that we have so many others that need to go as well and you can only do so much in one summer. I can see us struggling for 4th again next season with no real title chance at all.

Are people fecking SERIOUSLY complaining about Shaw going off in this game? I mean if he pulled up with a hamstring problem fair enough, but he took a decent blow to the head and didn't feel ok to keep playing.
Agree. Its silly to complain about a player taken off after a blow. It was the sensible thing to do.

If Rooney is injured please play Januzaj or Wilson upfront but for the love of god don't sub Falcao on Louie.

Apart from the penalty, have we even got one decent shot on goal, this is some terrible stuff, need to be more penetrative, make stuff happen
