That was a peach of a cross mate and nobody even trying - only person in the box is Cavani.

when the ball is switched to the right rashford is literally walking on the outside of the box just watching it?

I feel like he’s been watching messi play and has copied the walking part, but not much else.

I know it's frustrating. He keeps it doing and if he isn't told not to then he will. That cross was great, we should have 3 players in there at very least, but it's random with us

I expect nothing from this clueless manager, my only hope as usual is the players doing something on their own.

In seeing feck all improvements in our patterns of play.

We just seem to go out there and kick it around.

Then if the ball breaks counter so quick we feck up the pass

Difference between December/early January and late January/February is we've got no Pogba to score a cracker to cover up the cracks and save our blushes from another piss poor performance.

Do people not think this team has more talent than its showing? I struggle to believe this is the best they're capable of. But game after game we see these types of performances, we look so clueless.
I’d tend to agree but some of the errors are individual, the system has kept the ball, reduced their chances and created chances for us
It gives bruno and free role and rashford/Greenwood licence to attack as they see fit
We have matic who is a DM and Fred who is just an alright CM with no real quality on the ball

we should of taken the chances be 2-0 up and all happy

I don't think this game tells us anything new. It's the same story over and over. We've got a few talented players, but we're sloppy, we're slow, and we sometimes struggle to create chances and then take them. I'm genuinely amazed that we've scored the second most amount of goals considering how sloppy we can be. However, saying all this, we could have and should have scored at least two in that half. Just haven't got that extra killer instinct needed to elevate us.

This team would benefit from being able to play with one DM rather than two and having Pogba back in the team in the same form he was when he got injured. There is literally no interchange between the holding midfielders and Bruno who has to keep picking the ball up in a deep left back position.

Holding midfielders, plural? Matic a glorified CB. Back 3 again vs a shite team.

I just dilikke how he plays. Doesn't excel at anything for me apart from workrate.

Eratic is the perfect word for him.

His passing and shooting are so so poor
It's an odd time to express that opinion, that's all. Fred hadn't done anything to deserve that, mostly because despite his willingness to get on the ball, he's up against hopeless odds in there.

    He switches off too much.
half time Owen Hargreaves says United are not creating enough. Well, the ball has been passed right across the goal area and only Cavani is in that line. The passers can't make the runs for those who should be looking to get on the end of the crosses.

They’re always tough to break down, however shit we are. Then you look at the scores next weekend and I guarantee someone like Burnley will have pumped them 4-0. Game raising shits.

Well not parking the bus against the other mid-table teams is probably part of that. Pricks will be delighted with nil all here.

Awful first 10-15 minutes, but we grew into the game after Matic and Maguire decided to dribble into midfield more. Bailly had one dribble around 5 minute mark where kicked the ball out too far in front of him and gave Palace a counter

Bailly's dribbling is on the same level as Fred's shooting.
Speaking on Fred, he offers absolutely nothing in games like these. I assume he made the starting XI because Scott isn't fully fit yet?

We had quite a few chances in the first half, I'm sure we'll come out on top :)
It really wasn't as bad as some here make it out to be if you can get over the poor start.

We're second in the league while scoring the most goals which means we're playing attractive football. :wenger:

They just ignore the 2 outlier games where we scored about 15 goals. Take that 2 games out and we're around the middle of the table in terms of goals scored.

You do realize many teams have some big outlier matches this season yes? This is not a good argument to make.

Do people not think this team has more talent than its showing? I struggle to believe this is the best they're capable of. But game after game we see these types of performances, we look so clueless.

Yeah there is no doubt about that but if you are seen to criticise the coaching then that's normally followed up by being called a kneejerk plastic fan which is a bit harsh for just voicing an opinion

Shaw looks head and shoulders a level above everyone else in this team. That fizzed pass into Rashford was incredible early in the half.

So many of our players avoid occupying half-spaces. It's as if most of our forward line is trying to play as close to an opposition player as possible and it's providing no passing options for us to build up the play. This is why the ball rotates out and then makes its way back to the CB's again. No one is occupying different angles on the field and we've got no natural triangles. How often does AWB receive a return ball and then get stuck in a position between two oppo. players and then needing to dribble in-field to avoid danger? It's all down to making sure we're telling players to always provide a spare option for a pass, and it never seems as though that's something that happens.

Bruno & Rashford are massively overrated as footballers. They play badly more often than they play well, but they put up numbers so their massive deficiencies go unnoticed. Pogba is & always has been our best player technically. By some distance too.

He certainly isn’t on form but same time, he looks absolutely shattered.

He's not tired. There's been plenty of time to rest and recover. Most of the physical strain of the season doesn't even come from playing the matches.

    Stat on Sky then...

Bruno Fernandes has lost possession 11 times in the first half. That's crap from him.

On the bright side Henderson is claiming a few things that would potentially lead to a chance for the opposition

Hopefully we score early this half and don't make it a struggle for the last 10 minutes.

Bruno needs to play better, he's nowhere near the quality he's been lauded for this season.

In fact, everyone just needs to play better football.
There’s no space for him. No width, rashford standing in his areas, midfield massively disconnected.

you watch city and see how disciplined their wide players are that help make space for their inside creators. Our players barely ever move and as soon as he gets it they pounce on him.

admittedly he’s been sloppy but we just don’t do enough to give him space to work in.

We just lack quality pure and simple. No wide player on the right our midfield is crap one is slow the other can't pass. But our Harry is the absolute worst, always occupying the same space as Matic and kicking hoofballs all over the place. Just stay in you fecking place and let others do their jobs.

half time Owen Hargreaves says United are not creating enough. Well, the ball has been passed right across the goal area and only Cavani is in that line. The passers can't make the runs for those who should be looking to get on the end of the crosses.
We aren't creating enough. Anyone that thinks that United created enough chances with the talent we have is deluded.

We'll do enough to win this, but our performances since the new year have been very poor.

It's an odd time to express that opinion, that's all. Fred hadn't done anything to deserve that, mostly because despite his willingness to get on the ball, he's up against hopeless odds in there.

Not really an observation based in years if watching him.

Obviously with injuries he has to start but I would never plan in going into a season with him as a planned starter week in week out.

First choice backup on his day .

Bloody hell I wish I was watching the game you are
Our passing was purposeful but garbage unfortunately. Good intentions and all that.
This one's probably watching the highlights from last season's game against Palace.
Christ, what's the score in the game your watching mate? Sounds a cracker
You're kidding. We had 10 minutes of looking lively up the left, the rest has been brutal.
Get off this site and do your team talk Ole. Embarrassing that the first thing you think of at half-time in a game and performance like this is to defend yourself here.
It's telling that this is the reaction when you dare to not be negative. Some of you guys really are a miserable bunch.

Getting pity from the commentary team now.....never a good sign.

I just hope we dont go into next season with greenwood as our RW. He doesnt offer enough of a threat. I wont even consider James a starter down there.
Totally agree. The trouble is that he is the chosen one, after Rashford that is. And if he doesn't play on the right where does he play? It is just scary how much better Sterling and Mahrez are compared to Rashford and Greenwood right now.
