For once, I would like an easy win so that I can just relax and enjoy the game. But we all know that ain't gonna happen. So I'll settle for a nervous 1-2 win.

You know that we will start our slow and measured (to conserve energy).
Then turn up the wick in the 2nd half, if we are drawing or losing.
Should we go 1 goal up, we will sit back, invite pressure on ourselves, make CP look like league title contenders, until the final whistle blows.

Wow looking forward to it? I still watch all the games but can honestly say I dont look forward to our games anymore. Awful to watch
I'm optimistic. Always think "this is the day when we start to play fantastic, and never look back". Usually get disapointed at the end of the game, but happy enough if we win. That day is coming, you know. Might be today.

I keep putting money on us winning big and I’ve lost a fortune!

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Lindelof Young
    McTominay Matic Pogba
    Lingard Lukaku Sanchez

Subs: Romero, Shaw, Bailly, Carrick, Mata, Rashford, Martial

Nice timing for us with Palace having so many injuries. Could maybe see Bailly coming in for Lindelof, would be harsh on Lindelof but Bailly needs minutes.

Gone for a draw. Since SAF retired, every time I've thought "that was a good performance; maybe we've turned a corner" it turned out that we hadn't. Not moaning. Just risk-averse :nervous:

    Travelling Squad

GK: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira

Def: Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw

Mid: Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Matic

Att: Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingod

Can't start soon enough.. i feel like this is gonna be an all-around impressive performance from the team, McTominay to score let's GO!
It's an away game. I'm not getting high hopes for the performance. We almost never play well away. Would love to be proved wrong though.

    No Martial?

If we get a win tonight and a win against Liverpool on Saturday (which will be very tough with the form they’re in) I wouldn’t be surprised to start seeing some players getting rested in the premiership games as Mourinho starts to concentrate on the CL and FA cup if he feels 4th is more or less nailed on and after yesterday’s results with Arsenal and Chelsea it is looking more and more likely that we’re looking at the top 4 as it stands now.

    Martial injured?

I reckon Jose will play a two man midfield. Lingard in for McTominay and he will call it a 4-3-3 in all probability.

I am going to have couple of pints over this to mild the pain of watching us away..
    Going for a 0-1 or 1-2...

Mata has a good scoring record against Palace, I'd give him the nod over Lingard

I hope Bailly gets a start tonight. Given that they are a bit toothless, may be worth seeing the future - Bailly/Lindelov partnership. Have a feeling that Pogba may have an amazing game tonight.

Not looking forward to this. Away game, annoying crowd, probably a keeper to play on his best level :wenger:

It's the "GK to put in a MOTM performance" that worries me.
I still remember Heaton, for Burnley was ridiculously good last season, against us, at OT.
I wanted to see what he did in his very next game. And just as I thought, I think he let in 4 goals.
The problem is that a lot of these teams/players, play MUFC games, as if it is their cup final. So they pump themselves up for the game.

A great example of this was when we played Newcastle. They are near the bottom of the table, but when we played them, they played like title contenders.

Let’s actually impose ourselves on this game please and not shit the bed and concede 2/3rds of the pitch to a Hodgson team.

A big win would be good here to keep confidence high ahead of Liverpool and Sevilla.

Away to CP was one of maybe three games of Moyes' tenure I actually enjoyed watching us play. I think we won 2-0 with an attack of RvP, Rooney, Mata & Januzaj in a 4-2-2-2. It'd be nice to see something similar again tonight.

    Martial injured?

I reckon Jose will play a two man midfield. Lingard in for McTominay and he will call it a 4-3-3 in all probability.
I reckon it will be similar to Chelsea and Sanchez is going to be pushed up the top next to Lukaku with Lingard taking his place in 4-2-2-2. Lukaku needs a partner to flourish.

Hope Sanchez has a big game. Think he needs a confidence boost and could use one before the run in and start showing how good he is consistently. Has the ability to be the main man for us, but always hard coming in January into a team struggling for form.

I hope Bailly gets a start tonight. Given that they are a bit toothless, may be worth seeing the future - Bailly/Lindelov partnership. Have a feeling that Pogba may have an amazing game tonight.
I've had him in my lineup for last two matches. Tonight's the night. Drop Smalling or Lindelof.

This is a supposedly "leaked" XI (source: Manchester Evening News)

De Gea, Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Young, McTominay, Pogba, Matic, Sanchez, Lingard, Lukaku

Anyone know what's up with Martial?

Muscularly Embarrassed, French is preserved and will miss the very important encounter in Premier League

Little injury, apparently nothing serious. Even if fit I don't think he would have started this game anyway.

Our subs are a bit of a problem though. Can see Mata and Rashford coming on with the third sub being to give Bailly some minutes.
