    Everyone got 9/11

10/11 here. Thought Hererra would play as the #10 instead of Januzaj with Schneiderlin and Carrick behind. Happy that's not the case - Herrera and Carrick looked like they were on their way to become the best midfield duo in the league a year ago. Really hope they show glimpses of that tonight!

Hoping we can score first and put this to bed. Even though it's only Brugge, that's not going to stop myself from getting incredibly nervous.

Manchester United's Facebook page pointing out Herrera starts

To be fair, he needs the games to get up to some semblance of form. This is an important game, but we go in not needing to score goals.

Yeah... keep playing an out of form Rooney till he comes good, no matter if it's this game or in 20 games time. It's about time he was dropped, he's too used to being played every game no matter how useless he has previously been. I think it's about time we make him actually play for his place. Hernandez looked twice the player Rooney did recently.

I hope he comes good tonight, but I can't see it. Hopefully I'll eat my words.

If we don't score against Brugge, we might as well just retire as a club. I'm expecting another 3-1 result.
I'd generally say entertainment is as important as the result. However, the result is vital for this game. We don't need to score.

I dont understand why he doesnt rotate more, thats 4 games in 12 days for most of these players - plus several (Herrera, Fellaini, Hernandez) could do with more minutes

It's an attacking lineup though. I'd say LVG will want to put them away early with a goal or two. Then bring in subs to tighten things up.

A bit risky to start with Rooney in such a crucial game but LvG knows best I guess.

Rooney has played more crucial games for this club than anyone else in the squad. Hardly risky, the more he plays the more chance he finds some form, sensible decision IMO

Prefer the consistency personally. Helps build that understanding, especially for the likes of Darmian/Shaw who I think will be crucial as the season goes to provide service from out wide.

So we now know who Herrera is competing with for a starting postion,
    Schneiderlin.

Van Gaal is one strange man.

LVG never rotates, iirc he plays with the same 14 players all the time.

Ander Herrera performance thread or Redcafe Meltdown thread... it's over to you, Ander :D
As long as he doesn't do anything stupid and we get through that is what matters. The lad needs the minutes. If we score, he might even take him off for Morgan or Bastian. Although I would want them rested for Sunday.

It's the most important game of the season. I'm surprised he's changed it has much as he has!

Hallelujah Juander Matera is back. Rondo city bitch.

I'd of liked to of seen Fellaini start, but great to see Herrera.

If we need to and we really shouldn't, we can always put a CM on to sure things up.

Januzaj and Rooney have got to take these chances.

9 out of 11, didn't expect Ander to start of Schneiderlin, interested to see how he links with Januzaj and Mata.

I got thrown in my predictions. I also thought he'd give some players rest.

Disappointed Hernandez is not starting. If we are going to sit back and try pick them off his energy, movement and enthusiasm shown in his sub cameos would be good.

It's refreshing to see people angry at Fellaini not starting. How times change.

I give up. I'm convinced LVG uses a random number generator when selecting players.

Ideal game for Herrera to shine imo. Against lesser opposition who have to chase the game from behind.

Thought we'd see Fellaini instead of Januzaj, but apart from that it's the line-up I predicted. Quite an attacking front 6 really...

Good to see Herrera back in the side but didn't predict that so only got 10/11. I'm willing to lose points for that though!

Huge game for Ander. Expect him to play like this was the CL final out there. Most of the others pretty much know they're LVG's settled xi, so they can relax a bit, but Ander has to make the kind of impression that forces him into LVG's immediate thoughts.

He's playing in his proper position, too, right behind Mata with solid flank support from Darmian against a team that has to open up. The conditions couldn't be more perfect for him.

Expecting to see both Mata and Januzaj have more triangular passing in behind Rooney thanks to Herrera too. All eyes on the Spaniard. Needs a big, big game tonight.

Excellent attacking line up. Should be a great game to watch. Had schneiderlin and Fellaini instead of januzaj and Herrera. Oh well.
