Fellaini was probably our best player the first 10 minutes, then he just disappeared...
I see people calling for Memphis for Lingard, i wouldn't mind that, but i want to see Pereira instead, i think he has looked alot sharper when he's played.

QUite enjoyed that...first 20 mins, we did really well..but the moment we get even remotely tested, we almost screw up. How good is Darmian though today ? Fantastic cross and totally dominant in 1 v 1s. Lingard poor (Except that leave for the fantastic Darmian cross) though, needs to be replaced in the second half. Maybe Pereira or dare I say it Memphis.

or Memphis. Rooney has been absent as well. If Rooney does not improve I'd move Martial up top and bring Memphis on for Rooney.

We were clearly the better team in that half, but I think Chelsea have definitely had the better chances. Still generally happy with the performance so far. As for the penalty decison, I don't think it was... but, I would have understood if it was given.

Exactly. We are shite at dealing with corners, have been all season. Losing any more good headers of the ball is daft against Chelsea.

Apart from the Darmian cross and Martial we've done feck all really. Passing it around nicely and all but feck all penetration as per. Chelsea's defence is shite as well.

Lingard has some nice touches and flicks...but that's it. Memphis should come on for him.

Rooney has done nothing.

Felli needs to impose himself and play with a bit more confidence. Happy with him apart from the header and not clearing it at the end.

Fullbacks have been excellent, C B-J needs to play with a bit more awareness (when defending).

I don't think they've had the better chances. Costa shoots from an angle and distance that he can't score, the best he could do was get it close to the target, but I wouldn't count that as a chance just because he did.

The rules say that the hands should be in natural position, and protecting your face is as natural as it gets.

I have seen a lot of similar cases when the pen is not given. In fact, unless the ref is a total tool he won't give it.

And yep, being chest bound makes the discussion purely academic. It never was a pen anyway.

He's been solid again today and he's battling with Matic, who is going forward more than Mikel, but still is providing the strong and deep defensive box (Mikel, Matic, Zouma and Terry). They are playing deep and allowing United further up the pitch, waiting for a shit pass and just moving into space. You can see that Costa is on a flank, but they keep Willian and Oscar central, with Cesc behind.

Afaik that's not a valid excuse at all. It would've been a silly penalty, because Blind's body was in the line of the shot anyway, but imho the ref clearly had to give it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we've been bad and we certainly appear more attack minded. It's just that our front 4 don't really have any idea of how to create proper chances. Chelsea are well aware that our only threat is Martial so they double up on him every time which leaves us depending on the likes of Rooney, Mata and Lingard to force a breakthrough and for me none of them are good enough.

Not sure I agreed with Souness there, if it didn't hit his left arm it was going to hit his right arm which was out from his body. The ref was unsighted so take it as a moment of good fortune and go again 2nd half.

Started off well, but the last 20 mins swung in Chelsea's favour. The middle seems to be empty. A few times now some the Chelsea players have ran through the middle without anyone being near them. Think that needs to be looked at for the second half.

Going forward, however, we've looked pretty dangerous. We've created chances and have been unlucky not to score. We need to continue to overload them on the wings, with our full backs overlapping. That said, Darmian looks shattered. Probably get Varela on.
