    In all probability they will. But I just hope that we are able to score first. Because if we are having to chase the game, that will be particularly difficult.
    Yes first goal will be massive. Problem being Chelsea don’t seem to concede goals nowadays.

    Keep it tight and compact, force the Chelsea fullbacks outside and stop the crosses, really need to get tight on their attacking players too,
    Not going to be an easy ride this one but I feel we have a chance if we can keep compact.

    Jones will be on the bench. He’s 5th choice CB, Varane and Maguire are out.

    DDG
    AWB Bailly Lindelof Shaw
    VdB Fred
    Sancho Bruno Ronaldo
    Mason

    Ronaldo’s our best goalscorer and outfield player by somewhat of a country mile, so I wouldn’t drop him for sure. However, as good as he is, he can’t play upfront tonight. Letting Chelsea’s 3 CB’s play out with no press will lead to a flaccid loss with 30% possession. We need to at least have a go tonight, so have Mason and Sancho pressing the CB’s and Bruno sitting right on top of Jorginho to inhibit their build-up play. Lukaku thankfully isn’t starting, so Maguire being out is a blessing in disguise (or just a blessing probably). It could all go wrong, but I fancy Lindelof and Bailly against a fluid front 3.

    Chelsea 0-0 United, hopefully.

    My least favorite fixture of the season, on a cold, dark November evening. Weirdly enough our record against them has improved slightly recently?

    I'm actually feeling more confident in this than I probably should.

    Just because I have always felt that Carrick might turn in to a good manager due to his experience with SAF, Mourinho, Van gaal and others.

    Like to see Elanga or Diallo getting some game time today. Just have a feeling they could do well, in this one.

    I can see the euphoria of winning a game has gone to some peoples heads. Cant see nothing but a victory for Chelsea. 3-1. Ronaldo to get ours. Saying that if Ole was still here could see a thumping 5-0. Carricky did tighten the defence up and knew when to sub, but Chelsea along with Liverpool and City are much better than us. Hopefully I'm wrong, but don't see it.

    MODS!!
    The lineup prediction still saying Ole. Needs changing to RR after today.

    Greenwood press?:lol::lol::lol:

    Hope we stuff them. I've not felt optimistic in a long time but it's slowly starting to return. Ronaldo to get on the scoresheet for sure. Bruno to put in a good performance after being underwhelming for a while now.

    Too bad we aren't at home. It's snowing here in Manchester and I love a snowy Old Trafford!

    We will win this.

    Ref is from Wythenshawe, so probably. Not sure how Taylor is allowed to referee Utd given all his family and most people he knows will be Utd fans...

    Get your money on Chelsea red cards and Utd pens?

    We'd need to get into your box for that.

    Looking forward to this. I think Sancho could put on a clinic against a back 3

    Agree re. Carrick, but what’s even more important than the experience is that he seems to be a thoughtful chap who’s actually capable of learning from these managers and working out why what they attempted worked (or didn’t).

    Greenwood press?:lol::lol::lol:
    What’s funny? Greenwood has 12.8 pressures per 90 over the last year, 3rd in our team to Sancho (who’s also in my preferred team) and Cavani in terms of attackers. Unless you want to rush Cavani back, thus also losing Mason’s pace and explosiveness on the counter, then this is the best we can do.

    I know a lot of the anti-Chelsea bias stuff is said in jest, just some people having fun on the internet, but Taylor is a truly atrocious ref.

    He has been shocking for us, so dont worry about that.

    He’s from Altrincham and lives in Timperley. The area is mainly red but this guy is a huge Alty fan.

    I’m actually quite positive for this. We’re more than capable of beating them if things click.

    Can’t see us getting anything out of today. Chelsea are playing very well and we are still way of the pace of being highly competitive.
    The worry is the gaps appearing in the league

    Away match vs team with very good defensive record and world class form. I don't think we can win here. The only hope is may be exploit their left side with Sancho skills since it's Alonso playing there but then again, he might be weak defensively, while offensively is still very dangerous so it's not like I can call him weak link.

    I can see us winning this one with a few individual brilliance moments.
    2-3 final score, Ronaldo brace and Sancho to score.
