I thought they were taking turns, although you are right Herrera is more clearly doing it in the second half. But yes, you are right that what we are missing is the Herrera-Mata-Valencia triangle working. It has gone to pot with this change and makes Valencia look his usual frustrating self as he gets shepherded onto his left foot, forcing a backpass every time.
That's why I want Di María on the right. Shaw/Young are fine, it's the right flank we are not penetrating enough. Give them a two flank battle and see space open up instantly.
