Time for Lukaku to show he cares.

Damn, our squad is really thin (poor). There's nothing beyond a decent XI.

Mata to score a sumptuous free kick tonight:drool: Please...

Hate playing at this ground. For sure Chelsea put a spell on it re United. Even at our best we still could barely get a result here. :(

Bad news for fans watching on TV
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Martin Keown is here, so he might be on co-commentary duty tonight.

Hopefully he has brushed up on his research and doesn’t say - should United win - it is their ‘best ever night’ in the FA Cup. He said the Juve win in November was United’s ‘best ever night’ in Europe

Would've preferred De Gea and Sanchez but wouldn't be confident of a result either way. Chelsea full strength too.
If we have a penalty shoot out I reckon Romero is better at that. Otherwise, well....

Not confident at all. Without lingard and martial we'll see whether we can play different style than just with pace.

Hopefully mata doesn't play on right side.

Reasonable team if this is a 4-4-2 diamond. I worry about the lack of width though, but that's been a problem for us all season.

Bookies don't like our chances at all. On bet365 atm and it's 1.95 for Chelsea to win and 4.33 for United.

If we don't play Sanchez in games like this, how is he meant to find his form?
Maybe he should do better in training? Must be why he's not being picked to start.

    Good team.

As long as we just carry on having a go I'm happy with that.

Need that RB position sorting in the summer though

What time were you hoping for? It's BBC I think so was always going to be about this time so they can do draw after and make sure all done for the 10 o'clock news.....

...... when we all switch off.
It’s not a problem, it’s just unusual is all. I don’t think I can remember a 7:30 kick off before.

    Smalling and lindleof finally

Was excited to see Chong play. I'm assuming he picked up an injury to not be on that bench. No point having all those central players in there. This is a huge chance for Mata.

Is Sanchez injured? If not then he really must be struggling in training as well. Hope he can make an impact of the bench as I have a strong feeling this is going to extra time.

Don't feel confident. Going to watch it with my mate and we never win when we watch United games together.

    Sorry everyone.
Put stuff in his drink to make him sleep. Throw him in to your basement or just let him sleep on the kitchen floor.

Every time I see Mata starting and hope he is playing down the middle, I am let down. The worst part? Rashford is wasted down the left, and we might as well be playing with 10 men if we're playing Lukaku as a sole striker upfront. :(

Have a bad feeling that Alonso and Hazard will have a field day against Young.

I have to say, I am very disappointed Chong isn't on the bench. I also can't understand why we are still playing Mata on the right.

    Chelsea team
Starting XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Pedro, Higuain, Hazard
Subs: Caballero, Christensen, Zappacosta, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi, Willian, Giroud

    Manchester United team
Starting XI: Romero, Young (c), Lindelof, Smalling, Shaw, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Lukaku, Rashford
Subs: De Gea, Bailly, Dalot, Fred, McTominay, Andreas, Alexis

Four changes (two forced) from the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain with Romero, Smalling, Mata and Lukaku coming in for De Gea, Bailly, Lingard and Martial. Chong is the only outfield player who travelled not to make the bench. Chelsea have opted to start their first choice team.
I thought Sanchez was nailed on to start tonight after the way OGS was speaking about him in the run up to this game. It was almost as if he was saying to him, well here's your chance, take it and show everyone what you can do.

Hoping Mata is in the false 9 role Lingard was playing in vs Spurs and Arsenal.

My soul cannot take seeing him on the right anymore doing nothing.

Chelsea look like they have a better XI and a better bench, at least in terms of wide players. I was certain we'd see Chong or Gomes feature today, wonder why they're not in the squad.

Playing an untested teenager isn't a risk? As much as I would love to proven wrong and am not a huge fan of mata on the wing, I think he presents the safer option of the two. Soon see I guess.

Depends how you look at risk.

I'd say there is a very high probability of Mata doing very little tonight. While there is a medium chance of Chong getting overwhelmed. Rather take the youth risk

Not like it matters now as I've seen the team sheet. No Ching and 3 x central midfielders on the bench. FFS

Chong not even on the bench is really disappointing, Sanchez is basically the only attacking option off the bench we have, I don't see why we needed 3 CM's on the bench. Got 10/11, De Gea traveling tricked me.

    You would have thought....
Mata can not be anonymous again tonight we cannot carry him and lukaku

Time for Ole to show if he's tactically astute or naive

    That's what I though to.

Do we really need 3 centre mids? We could potentially shoehorn Perreira or Fred put wide in an emergency, but seems a bit daft. I'd have dropped Perreira given his ladt 2 bad performances, Beyer giving him a chance in a lesser fixture
