Sarri is under a lot of pressure and sure wants to win this game.
He put out his best possible line-up.
I can only think it's his ability to put in a good ball with his left, to Lukaku and also giving some midfield protection5-0 to Chelsea.No Chong or Gomes on the bench is disappointing when you have other players always under performing and when OGS keeps stating the youth will get a fair shot but when?
Well I guess Ole see's it my way, at least he is playing at no 10 by all accounts. Disappointing not to see Chong on the bench though I agree.2 wins in our last 22 visits here makes me very pessimistic. I hate this fixture so much. Be a big surprise to me if we progress.

Mata hasn't been a great deal better in truth.
That said, it looks like Ole is going with the diamond formation and Mata is most effective in that number 10 role behind the strikers. I also think Lukaku will benefit from a striker partner - especially one with genuine pace like Rashford.
Ole is clearly trying to make the most out of what he has available.

Yes, would have them starting instead of that pair in a heartbeat. Dalot is superior to young anyway, while Mata can’t even run.
I'm just sick of going safe on a mediocre/ below average option. Rather take a relatively small risk to achieve the excellent
Really hope Mata is central, a completely different beast in that role and can do a lot of damage if Lukaku moves for him tonight and the fullbacks get forward
Ole said as much in his embargoed press conference. He said he believes in young guns surprising you when given a chance, but this big game might be a step too early for them

Sanchez hasn't done anything to be the preferred choice when we have injuries in the team.Can see this being a difficult game for Chelsea. Alonso and Kante both starting, if we're pushing up the pitch can see us getting beat comfortably, again. Sarri must be a masochist!

With Mata in the 10 position, I just count it as a midfield 4. Lukaku and Rashford are strikers.
We don't have a million players, many games coming up and rotation is key. Keeping the right legs fresh for specific games at a crucial time of the season is a must.
Maybe motivation isn't the problem.Both managers playing teams that suggest that this is a real priority. Would be easy to rotate and get your excuses in early.
Dull line up from us in the sense that these guys have played a lot recently. Thought Mata was our best player second half against PSG, but Young is going to need to really get forward for him to properly impact the game.- Status
